Of course, there were more minor, but also more widespread medical fiascos like partially hydrogenated oil, unhealthy junk food for any type of diet, prostate cancer screening, mammograms before age 50, back surgery, early vaccines that were not effective or had worse side effects, etc…
Now, the mention of vaccines, water flouridation, dental amalgam, diet ideologies, dietary supplements, etc. can evoke fierce pseudoscientific debate.
So exciting that I’ve changed my look in solidarity!!! Congratulations!

Thank you, again, everyone! Today was my first day back at school and my boss/POI took me around to a bunch of faculty members to meet them. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful- I’m already excited for my program to begin
ETA: One of them was one of my current professors who works with issues around race, gender, and technology. She was especially excited because she liked my papers on these issues and didn’t know I had applied.
