Since there are enough things in life that caUse stresses and strains, I found myself thinking today about the simple pleasures in life. Today I bought my first tree-ripened peaches. I love summer fruits and cannot wait for them to arrive on the shelves. Oftentimes the early ones are grainy and mealy. But the ones I bought today were delicious — sweet and juicy. Also got a call from DS who just wanted to say hi.
Lifes’ simple pleasures.

Great thread.

Yesterday was a good day. Son sent pictures of his new apartment, had a wonderful weekend with g/f in S.F., and was eager to start his internship.

Went to a friend’s party. Many of us met when our kids attended a private elementary school. I loved hearing about everyone’s children, and seeing pictures of these young grown-ups. Hearing about their jobs, s/o;s, marriages, and pregnancies was lovely. I hadn’t seen one friend in a while, and relieved to hear she’s passed the 5 year mark for breast CA. Though our lives are not intwined, there was such a feeling of warmth.

I can relate to mostly everyone’s simple pleasures. Except for singing in the choir (can’t carry a tune), curling with the cat (don’t have a cat) and hot tubbing with wine (have a hot tub, but never acquired a taste for wine). I just need to remind myself to appreciate these simple things that bring joy. Working on having a more thankful heart!

As I drove to work the other day, the sun was coming up and there was a dense mist over the river because of the cold air and warmer water. It was a lovely scene.
