<p>Might be interesting to chime in with info (even excluding travel costs) that performing artists incur when applying and auditioning for colleges.</p>

<p>Auditioning at conservatories can cost $1000 a pop for travel, rental car, etc. Some of the non-conservatories are less work and have good programs.</p>
