My daughter called Wake Forest’s Admissions Office on 5/5/10 to try to schedule a “wait list” interview and she was told that Wake is NOT going to its wait list at all this year.

On Friday 5/7/10, she received a Fed Ex letter from Washington and Lee with an acceptance.

My question will concern the regional aspect of the waitlist process. I’m referring to those who got off the waitlist now: Are you all from the United States? I am an international student applying for financial aid. I’ve been waitlisted by five colleges and am anxious about the decisions. Hearing that you’ve all received calls and/or emails giving the good news, I started to feel even more anxious.

I can confirm what McLean12 said this morning. D called Wake admissions office on 5/5 as directed and was told Wake will not be going to its wait list this year. Evidently they made a good, conservative yield estimate and are also pretty confident they’ve accounted for “summer melt.” Disappointing news but D is bouncing back and feels better moving on.
