Anyone know about Johns Hopkins going to their waitlist?

Anyone know about Pomona?

Wow…that’s a long time. What the heck? How does it take them three weeks to count up the number of replies they have received?

collegebiomed:

From the Hopkins board:

I think we should take Yale off the list until we get a second and third example of someone pulled off the waitlist. We only have one case, and its secondhand. Not that I don’t trust serendipityyy, but you’d think there would be more than one.

Admissions Dan @ Tufts says they don’t know if they are going to the waitlist, but it will be a couple of weeks either way.

We know of someone who reported getting CMU/Tepper’s waitlist last night. Interesting, considering what others have reported re: CMU’s Priority WL.

Johns Hopkins official update by Admission_Daniel:

i guess almost every school goes to its waitlist

Not true. Cornell didn’t for 2 years. Sometimes they over admit. My sense is that this year most schools will.

Technically, Bryn Mawr is off the list as well since they haven’t started pulling people off the waitlist as of yet. They’ve only sent an email asking for the waitlisted students to confirm thier interest in Bryn Mawr so they can start reevaluating the waitlisted applications.

Syracuse has as well.

I’m under the impression that many schools underadmitted this year in an attempt to balance their yield and expect to be going to their waitlist. We have had a discussion with one school that said exactly that.

Maybe they’re waiting for HYP, etc. to pull from their waitlist first?

Just spoke to admissions at Indiana University-Bloomington and I was told “it is unlikely that we will be going to our waitlist this year”. Oh well.

From Syracuse Daily orange:

“The enrollment office is expecting to accept fewer than 60 students off the waitlist”

[Daily Orange - Class of 2014 to have record 3,300 students](http://www.dailyorange.com/class-of-2014-to-have-record-3-300-students-1.1471944)

This was posted on another thread. Stanford’s yield may be highest yet…

D’s friend was offered a spot off the waitlist at Barnard yesterday.

Saint Olaf College is not going to the waitlist due to a larger than expected enrollment. Just got the e-mail.
Good luck to all the waitlistees!!
