Hey everyone so i have a little brother who is good like damn smart he is a freshman in highschool in algeria and studies the french program at a "french"hs so he will pass a french national exam he is not a french citizen
His stats :
18.78/20 in school grades should be equivalent to a 4.0 uw in the us
17.6/20 in the national highschool entrance exam also normaly a 4.0?
Cant take AP classes as they are not available in his country*
*but i do teach him college level math(linear algebra fundamental mathematics proofs a lot of computational theory cause he loves it but i guess since he cant take ap exams i wont mention it)
he will be able to pass the SAT made him a home mock test and he got a 1560 and 1540 i do believe its about his level
he has a math physics and cs teachers willing to write him a recomendation letter
He founded his school cs club which ended up becoming the village’s cs club
Made an app for village chiefs(to avoid reckless spam by people)to warn of fires and uses ai analysed images as well as coordinates to follow the fires and their peogress which are a big big problem in our region which kills 40 or so people each year and intends to implement a feature to follow where rescue/firefighters are during those emergencies and i got him some totally legal in our country drones so he gets better tracking of the fires without getting up close cause my mother will have a heart attack at this rate lol
He does charity work during the fires aside from the app like helping get aid to those affected and helps around in soup kitchens the rest of the year and also gets old people some tech education to avoid them falling for scams he is basically the village tech support since i left and is “training” someone else to take his place
He does no sports or instruments at any significant level
I know us admissions are pretty random but willing to take advice on anything that can help him improve his odds he aims for the top of the us(mit harvard caltech etc) as well as canada(mcgill toronto etc) and the uk(oxford cambridge ucl etc) he will probably need financial aid for tuition but i would say that even with the huge amounts of debt getting to one of these top programs would still be worth it
