Little splurges

Starbucks or other expensive coffee. I’m too cheap to spend my “own” money when I can make at home so I love a coffee card where I can splurge on expensive coffee drink.

How long does it take to put on the extensions? I think it would be fun for trips or special occasions.

LOVE Stance socks! They are so cute and well made.

I have really long, light colored eyelashes so I always have mascara on and my lashes touch my reading glasses if I push them too far on my face!

Tinting is easy @showmom858 , you probably wouldn’t need mascara anymore.

@conmama extensions last for weeks so they’re not really for special occasions, for that you’d just want strip lashes.

I have had a few splurges lately with some antique furniture pieces. I bought an earl American Sheraton style table which is very similar to one that was handed down to me, and also a cool old washstand from the same time period.

I am also having some lampshades custom made for a pair of lamps I found on Ebay

Hotels…not too picky in that department. Since we have been traveling with our dogs in tow lately , we are pleased with Comfort Inns and Country Inn and Suites. We usually arrive in the evening and leave early in the morning so I don’t need anything high end

I texted my husband a link to a place that does the extensions near our house and I said “I would love to get these for my birthday” (it’s coming up). He didn’t text back and I asked him a few minutes ago if he’d seen it.

He said “I thought you were kidding-that’s a real thing?” Lol, yes, honey 8->

Tinting eyelashes in Ca is illegal. My sister has blond hair and pale eyebrows and lashes, her stylist told her she is no less ne’er able to tint them for her.

Um, my daughter has in done every few months, we live in California.

Hard cover books from my local, non-chain bookstore. I can stop in, browse, get suggestions of new books and authors, and meet authors at signings. I know that my $ are supporting the owner and the two employees and the local economy. Better than $ to the evil empire.

We splurge on travel. We don’t travel constantly, but when we do, we fly first class (almost always on miles) and stay in the nicest hotels we can manage.

Nice restaurants and good wines while traveling as well.

Well, sometimes I buy the REAL Oreos, instead of the store brand…

Back to small splurges: I get my hair straightened once a year. It doesn’t last that long but I wait til the salon has it on sale and I do it. Today I had my roots done. Thats not a splurge-- thats a necessity :frowning:

^^^^agreed. Getting mine done tomorrow.

Our hotel splurge is to stay in a condo or house instead. We use VBRO or AirB&B and love the extra space. We prefer a large ocean view veranda to room service and spas.

I find it interesting to read what different people consider small splurges.

I have a standing appointment for a gel manicure every two weeks - it is great having color that doesn’t chip, but is definitely a small splurge. I also love Balega Hidden Comfort socks for myself, and my boys always wear Stance socks. Stance is headquartered in my town, and a couple of years ago we sold our house to a Stance executive. We had multiple offers on the home, so when we countered to the Stance guy, we asked for a dozen Stance socks as part of the deal. He loved it, and was extra-generous :).

My husband met with a friend of his today who is in the begining stage of a divorce. He is what I would consider financially comfortable . His business has seen some difficult times in the last few years and his wife doesn’t grasp this. This means she can no longer max out her credit cards monthly on shopping sprees. I cannot even fathom having the ability ( or desire ) to do nothing but shop, shop, shop…who needs that much stuff ?

I thought this was a ‘little splurge’, but now I’m thinking it might be a ‘deal of the day.’

I really like Bliss lemon and sage lotion, and did get some at Marshall’s at Christmas (small tube). They haven’t had any lately. My daughter asked me to get her some at Nordstrom Rack as it is $17 (big tube). The sticker always says “Compare to $49” but I never believed that price. I decided to look it up online and it DOES cost that ridiculous amount! I do love the lotion but I know I’d never pay $49 for it.

Now it is on both lists. It is a ‘little splurge’ at $17 a tube and a ‘Deal of the Day’ as I now know I’m saving so much every time I rub it on.

i am sad to say that our little splurge is to go to Denny’s on Saturday morning for two Value Slams.
