I think I saw a hole in one of the eggs… Maybe it was just a speck of dirt.

Nope Bunsen, I think you are right. The facebook page is buzzing (see above) and they are hearing "cheep cheep"s from the egg.

On FB, search on Hornby Eagles.

Yes, I saw the hole. I am now convinced that there is a hole in one of the eggs.

Is there only a hole in one egg? Maybe I’ll still have a chance to see the other one hatch…I won’t be home until after 6…
Although the little pip will be cute!

The two eagles just changed places and one bumped the camera. I got a glimpse of the eggs and one appears to have a 1/4" round hole.

The parents just switched places and there was a definite hole in the egg on the right. Is it my imagination, or is there a lot more fluffy stuff in the nest? Assume they’re getting “bedding” ready for the chicks!

And don’t you love the sponsors - Eagle Outfitters, Eagles tix, etc.

9:07 both eagles in nest.
9:09 eagle parents traded off.
It’s a sunny day on Hornby Island, BC
I also saw the small hole in the egg.

I think that’s the Mom on the nest now. Her beak is larger and more turned-down than her mates.

Wow, the nest is super fluffy! (and the number of viewers almost DOUBLED!)

Are you folks hearing hammering? The eagle seems agitated by it.

The eggs are alone; where are mom and dad?

OK, one of them came back. I was getting worried!

Well mom or dad came back to the nest. I think the eagle is making sounds that I had not heard before.

Both mom and dad are there now.

I have been enjoying this very much. Thank you, OP!

JustAMom, the 2nd egg will hatch a couple days later because it was laid a couple days later. :)

I love watching this . . . I love how gentle the eagles are with their eggs! Awww!

I don’t think I truly understood the meaning of the word “FASCINATING” until now. Really. This is Great.

p.s. I shared the link with some co-workers. They have small kids. One coworker just called me to say, thanks, now my 3 year old won’t go to bed until the egg hatches. :o

really distinct cheep noises and larger hole in the egg just now as the parent rearranged the eggs. I thought I saw something through the hole in the egg, but the resolution was not great.

I saw thought I saw movement through the hole in the egg too.

I knew it was about time for the eagle to turn around! Great view of the eggie with the hole in it and chance to hear the baby peeping. Then the eagle very gently moved the “younger” egg around but didn’t adjust the position of the “open” egg. Very cool!

ETA - oops! crosspost!! and yes, I saw movement too.

I saw the eaglet moving in the egg too! cheep cheep!
