I got deferred. I got the email tonight at 6:20 PST. was pretty sure I was going to get in so I’m a little disappointed. LMU is not my top choice but it does make me nervous about my other schools considering this is the first response I’ve gotten. In case you’re wondering, I’m from San Diego, applying as a marine biology major, 1320 SAT, 4.28 weighted gpa
D20 accepted today. Checked the portal just after 5PM PT and saw the update, but still haven’t received an email update, so glad we did!
She is an IB kid with a 4.3 GPA weighted, 1470 SAT
Accepted to School of Business (Management)

For those that have been deferred, keep the faith. LMU’s acceptance rate is almost 50% from last years stats. The fact that they didn’t deny you at this time means that they are still interested in you. Also, if LMU isn’t where you end up, don’t worry, a school does not define you & where your long journey will take you toward a successful career…you control it.
@Whiskey6920 thank you for your kind words! It’s been a real struggle, dealing through the ADHD. I got diagnosed super late(end of freshman year) so high school has been a place where I’ve grown immensely. I went from not even wanting to go to college(naive freshman me wanted to be like Gary Vee, then I realized I think I’d like a degree) to actually being on the top honor roll for having a 4.0 or above last year. I hope they see what I have to bring to LMU and I can get in! Deferred is still hopeful!!

I was accepted yesterday in the school of film and television for recording arts!!! my sat is 1390 (730 verbal, 660 math), gpa is 3.82 weighted, 3.7 unweighted at an arts school in atlanta!
fwiw, D accepted to Business and Design. Good rep. west coast college prep school. 3.55/3.7 GPA. 3.8/4.2 this year. 32C/33C/34SS ACT. Strong ECs, submitted optional 3D art portfolio. Also accepted ED NEU and EA Fordham. Going to NEU due to ED, tho I’m a little sad as we are WC based and LMU is closer to home - and would have been a great program for her. Boston is too far away. Waaaaa!
My D EA accepted at Liberal Arts undeclared. 3.7 gpa w, 28 act, out of state, honor roll, 3 good teacher’s rec and solid essays. Not too great on academic stats but happy she made it. Congrats those who got accepted !!! Learning at beautiful campus and small-sized class will be a great experience.
Just seeing this other comment. I have no great explanation for the EA acceptance but reading about the audition it sounds like it’s more a placement thing than anything else. D has been a competitive dancer for 10 years and tons of training and performance experience in all genres–her application/essay made this very clear. The program is for a B.A. not a B.F.A I’m certain that if it were a B.F.A. she would have had to audition back in the fall but she decided a while back she didn’t want a B.F.A.–just a B.A. or minor. Hope your D gets in to her top choices!
@erynpanda - usually merit is for 4 years as long as you keep in good academic standing (each school is different what that means but often full course load and >3.0). That should all be spelled out in the merit notification.

In the message they ask for updating the fall semester transcript when it is ready. Did they ask you to do the same thing? Hang on there. I am sure you will get good offers soon!!
My daughter was accepted yesterday as a dance major as well!
12 Years of ballet training and competitive dance team member.
4.4 GPA -dual enrollment at community college for the last 2 years. Tons of community service/outreach.Submitted a video audition with resume, etc…Also, had a phone interview with chair of Dept. She is super excited!
