I applied as a film major and I’m still waiting to hear back, I’m really hoping they tell us sometime this month
@JJ2000 Does your application still say submitted or under review?
I got deferred as of May 6th. They want me to submit my final grades before they make a final decision according to the letter I received in the portal.
Still waiting for a decision after submitting a mid-term report back in early March, at the time I had all A’s but currently I’m the same in all classes but or my Statistics course. Not doing so hot and genuinely feel I might get a D, not even a C! These math courses are just impossible for me in an online setting so hopefully I scrape by with a passing course, whether I get an admissions offer or not!
submitted, I put in my application mid march
Just thought I’d post this here which was posted by @TransferGuy08 in the 2020-2021 USC transfer forum

Apparently this is the “most competitive transfer class in LMU history” at 2 minutes in, approx 3,000 transfer applications this year to fill 450 spots. 15% acceptance rate.
@mrblondeisdead does this mean they stopped accepting students? i started to watch the link and it makes it seem like they’re done with the transfer process
@hydrangea78 I don’t believe so! I’m sure there are waves of admitted transfer students and this video is probably in order to accommodate students onboarding seamlessly especially with having to accommodate the COVID-19 pandemic, especially because it is only a “preview day” video, for those who’ve been offered admission so far.
Although, of course her statement about this being most competitive group of transfer applicants is definitely concerning!
Edit: Definitely watch the video linked above. It mentions the wave of admissions: There are FIVE waves: First wave heard admissions decision on March 15, second wave March 16 to May 1, third wave will have heard May 2 to June 1, fourth wave June 2 to July 1, fifth wave July 2 to August 31!
@mrblondeisdead thank you so much!! yeah i should’ve watched the entire video, but i’m so glad that there are more waves coming!
Here are the traunches for admission for transfer students
Group LMU Acceptance on or Before:
1 March 15
2 March 16 - May 1
3 May 2 - June 1
4 June 2 - July 1
5 July 2 - August 31
So 2 more traunches to go.
And to give everyone some hope,
DS got accepted on 5/6/20,
submitted application on 3/15/20.
Major: Econ.
GPA: 3.1.
Applied as a senior.
I also want to give some hope to the students who are still waiting.
i got accepted in the beginning of April.
gpa: 3.0
marketing major.
i didn’t submit my letter of recommendation.
applied as a sophomore, will be a junior.
have there been any rejections?
Damn… I applied on March 15 for Film Production and I haven’t heard back from them yet? I wonder what is going on… the app still says processing…
Does anyone know how well courses tranfer? I did get in, but I’m concerned that it seems I’m going to have quite a lot of courses I’ll need to take, as in over 80 hours.
has anyone received anything yet? i’m a little irritated as i’m still waiting on lmu and another school when i’ve already been accepted at one school
same… still waiting… also got offer from one school. I sent emaiil to lmu. They said just keep an eye out for any emails with the subject line “Status Updated”…
@grapesoda2, here are the articulations from some community colleges.
https://registrar.lmu.edu/transferagreements/
And past articulations from other 4 year colleges
https://banner-web.lmu.edu:8080/pls/pbanr/lmuhwskthst.LMUTransHist
But bottom line is that after you are accepted you have to wait until LMU gives you the course evaluation/articulation to know what you need left to graduate and then you can commit or not to LMU. And don’t forget to send LMU your Spring 2020 transcript so that your spring classes are included in the articulation.
just got a status update from lmu! in the update they told me i need to submit my final grades in order for them to fully consider me. so as of now i’m deferred, but i’m hoping it’s a good sign fingers crossed
@hydrangea78 Any update is a good update! Assuming your spring grades are in, hopefully you hear before July 1!!! Stay positive and good luck
