Thanks LLMU190
It helps getting info from someone who has spoken with an advisor. Hope your trip is going well.

Update
I talked to the Admissions counselor at LMU. I am under the impression that her transcript is the final piece to the puzzle. Still waiting for one grade to be posted before the transcript can be sent to LMU. She got a 3.74 at junior college for her 23 units in the Fall, Winter and Spring. If that does not get her in I will be very disappointed.

My daughter is waiting for acceptance. She applied for Studio Arts and Art History. She was told her application is being reviewed by the Dean of the Art Dept and they are waiting for her final transcript. The final transcript will have the GPA of 3.75. Your thoughts?

@pgawest, I think your daughter have a very good chance. I got my acceptance to business admin with a 3.76. Hope this help

Just curious as to what size Financial Aid packages are anybody getting. My goddaughter has an EFC of 0. Thanks

LMU Transfers
Anyone out there still has not gotten a phone call from their advisor?

Trying to be positive. I would think that if we are this late in the process that if the transcript is good thats the final piece in the puzzle. The transcript with 23 units in solid core classes from her junior college was 3.73 GPA. Keep your fingers crossed. I am not worried about the financial aid package. It should be good enough because her EFC was 0

Hi Guys !

My name’s Rocky and I applied to LMU for the fall 10 semester as a transfer Business Management major. I’ve got a cumilative GPA of 3.50 (out of 60 units) and got a letter from LMU saying that they have decided to wait for my summer 2010 grades to come out (as I still need to complete one macro-econ and one calculus class that’s apparently required before i can get accepted). I’ve enrolled into both of those summer classes now … although my math class does not finish up until August 23rd. Is that too late to be able to get accepted into LMU ? Orientation for transfers is on August 28th … and the semester starts on the 1st … so that’s exactly a week that they’d have time to see my transcripts and accept me.

Does anyone know what could happen in this scenario ? I was really hoping someone could help me out … as I just wanted to know if it’s safe to assume that I’d get accepted if i ace those last 2 classes (ending up with a 3.55 gpa) - or if they could reject me based on the fact that the math class ended so late. I’d really appreciate it if anyone has any idea about this. Thanks !!! :)

don’t know anything about transfers, but good luck! you might want to touch base with the Admissions Office now, just to let them know when your math class ends, so they are aware. Maybe you can send them grades for the class while the semester is in progress, prior to Aug 28, so they can see? Good luck!

I know this is a thread for 2010 Transfers, but I’m applying for Spring 2011 from the University of California, Riverside as a Political Science major with a 3.747 GPA and 45 quarter units under my belt. Are my chances good?

Hey what’s up everyone? Just recently got accepted to LMU’s undergraduate Business School. I’m a transfer student from Santa Monica College. I’m from Los Angeles, but plan on moving and living on/slightly off campus. What are you guys doing about living arrangements?

For those of you accepted as a Sophomore:

Did you complete ALL of the core/major requirements prior to transferring?
I have 10 units from high school and I’m taking 15 in the fall, but I don’t think I’ll have all the classes completed that the LMU website says is required to transfer to the comm school.

Kind of confused on the whole situation.
Advice/experience appreciated.

When did you send in your application and when did you receive you acceptance notice. My god daughter is still waiting?

My question was to jon12390

Jon, just curious. What is your GPA and what was your GPA for your last year at Santa Monica

Oh hey sorry pgawest, just checked this site again. My overall GPA from Santa Monica was a 3.36, and my last semester’s GPA was a 3.75. I sent my application before the deadline, and it took LMU a while to accept me. They told me that they needed my Business Calculus 2 grade before acceptance, so mid-June, when I got my grade, I sent in my transcripts and got an acceptance letter from LMU.

@Rocky88: You might want to ask the teachers to immediately send your grade to LMU after they grade your final. What’s strange is that when I asked an LMU counselor if they accepted Summer grades, their answer to me was “no”. And from reading your situation, that makes sense. You might want to try transferring in the Spring. Btw, the transfer orientation is August 27 (Friday), not 28, and classes start on August 30th (Monday).

Thanks jon 12390. Did they have to see your spring grades? As you can see by looking back at my prior posts this is becoming quite an ordeal. Keep your fingers crossed for us. As I stated the last thing requested were Spring grades which were 3.73

Hi all,
Am I the only that still has not been contacted by an advisor? I have called 3-4 times (at least once a wk) and have been told I would be contacted the following to week. The last time I called I was told I would be contacted after July 4th. I can’t register for classes till I speak to an advisor and I am leaving town on the 15th and will not return till 7/29. What is going on???

Join the party. You are waiting for an advisor and my god daughter is waiting for admission notification.
