As we know asking for finaid diminishes chances for getting admissions, I wanted to ask can I get upto 1,50,000$ loan in colleges??. After which I can easily repay it.
What us the maximum limit for loans??

I am sure the plenty of bank representatives on College Confidential would be able to answer you! Just kidding. CC is no place to be looking for such answers. Call your nearest bank rep, and ask him/her. Or visit the website of the bank where your parents hold an account.

There’s no limit. If you get accepted at a top level college, any bank will be happy to offer you the loan because they expect students from there to be successful enough to pay back the loan. Getting into a college is much harder than financing college if you are ready to take a loan.

Dont look for such big loans !!! if the reason behind ur chosing US colleges is return for investment , be a bit careful.First of all getting a job for internatinoal student in US at entry level right after completing undergrad is not that easy,it depends a lot on ur intended major and how good are u, because the company which will hire u will have to sponsor ur visa, go through a lot of paperwork.

Most students who go for undergrad in US seek employment right after undergrad some of them get recruited in top MNC’s some not, even those who get recruited may not get visa extension and thus are shifted to the Indian ,regional offices which does mean a cut in salary.
But the main thing is that even if u work 1 year in America it is a great advantage. So while considering the amount of loan u will be needing think , of the figure you will be able to payback when u are recruited in India.

Secondly if u compare the starting salaries of undergrads from ivies and non ivy league (first tier)colleges u may be shocked to see, that difference in salary wont be greater than 15000 $ at most, and most importantly shortlist th colleges u would be applying to on the basis of curriculum, research facilities they offer and their placement records which can be found on payscale.com dont chose colleges on the basis of ranking only.
