“I have tickets for two gold medal tennis matches, yay!”

Lucky you! Going to be weird watching players at Wimby in something other than white.

I’m very excited about the tennis coverage this go round. Every day live on Bravo, which leaves the late afternoon and evening free for me to watch the other sports.

“Because of the weather, the players will likely be wearing pants and long sleeve shirts.”

You go onto NBC’s Olympics website and click on Video. You choose the name of your parents’ cable provider, then you sign into with their user name or email address and their password.

I did it this morning - glad I did it in advance since H had changed the user name and password from what I had written down.

But they don’t have an e-mail address. Then what? And does it register the computer I’m currently on, or is it just a log-in that I can use with various devices?

Not really. The soccer Olympic teams are a different bunch with the age restrictions. Look at the US team for an illustration of the differences.

I do not dislike Spain – I just dislike the tikki-tacky style the national team relies on. And I resent how often Dama Fortuna has been on the side of the “prepotentes” extraordinaire.

Speaking about dislikes … I just hope Serena does not come close to a medal.

Will be cheering for Clara Hughes, as always. She’s one of the only athletes (maybe THE only, not sure) to have won multiple medals in both the summer and winter games. Speedskating and cycling. She’s a fantastic athlete and a wonderful human being. Go Clara!

Those of you who are close enough to Canada to pick up CTV, have a look. There is coverage virtually 24 hours a day, other than breaks for the 6:00 and 11:00 news. And further coverage on Sportsnet, TSN and OLN.

My D who lives in London got to see the 100 year old torch bearer this week and also got to meet Rupert Grint. She was excited on both counts.

Rumor has it that the Queen invited her touching pal from the White House to join her in the James Bond adventure, but they could not locate a Made in the USA parachute. Or perhaps the Queen did not really want one. for Mrs. o.

Anyone know who the woman is who’s doing the NBC commentary? I don’t know who told her that the dancers are all actual doctors and nurses from the GOSH but I can say without a doubt, that they are not. Seriously, did she honestly think that?

I’m amazed how little NBC is actually showing of the Opening Ceremony…it is so chopped up with endless commercials it’s difficult to get any sense of “flow” of the program at all.
They even inserted a Ryan Seacrest/Michael Phelps interview rather than the live show.
Seriously…??

So maybe this isn’t fair, but what I have seen, I’m with the poster who said “disappointed”. It’s not working for me–the live performance mixed in with so much video. I think that’s partly because sometimes it’s tough to tell what’s a great commercial vs the Ceremony when it’s all mashed together.

Is there any way to see the program without NBC? I stopped watching because I couldn’t stand the extraordinary number of commercial minutes compared to the show.

I sure hope they do a better job of broadcasting the actual sports events. Not happy.
