Long-Distance Boyfriends and College

Hey CCers… I’m going through an interesting situation right now. My boyfriend of two years just left for GWU, and we are planning on staying together. I am a senior and do NOT want to “follow” him to school, but obviously, it would be nice to be near him next year. Still, I am not so naive as to think there isn’t a large chance that we’ll break up, though we are a very strong couple. Interestingly enough, I’ve fallen COMPLETELY in love with Georgetown. I also am applying to GW as a safety, and really like the school but am much more hesitant about ending up there. What are your thoughts on ending up in the same city as a boyfriend or ex boyfriend for college, any stories are welcome, I’m curious to hear what you have to say?

my girlfriend and I have been together for about 4 years (about a year, a year apart and then three together) and we both feel that we should not be at the same school. I think being with in the same area is a great situation, but too close can be tough. being too far from each other is something that some couples can do, and with out cheating too, while others cant. try what you can and if it doesn’t work, move on to greener pastures. maybe you will meet in the future.

I actually did a semester in Israel last semester and we made it through that, so the distance/cheating is not an issue, its more of its nicer to be in the same area.

Why is boyfriends plural?

Because there are 8 of them.

Haha its plural because I’m making a general statement, asking in general, not just about my boyfriend(s).

Ok kidding on the (s).
