D just visited Cambodia. She is quite the handbag aficionado, knows her leather, zippers and stitching, lining quality. Found some beautiful Longchamp knockoffs for $8.00. Can’t wait to see what she’s bringing home.

As part of an organizing/decluttering project this weekend, I am taking a hard look at all of my tote bags and purses. I’ve decided to flatten the totes I’m keeping as much as possible and stand them up in a giant clear plastic storage bin (sort of like files in a drawer). But the purses with shapes are a problem. How do you store yours?

The non-keepers will be offered to the daughters, sold on ebay, or given away. I often post pictures on facebook and give things to friends, but several of the non-keepers were gifts from relatives who are on facebook.

TutuTaxi, that expandable tote is GREAT! I have a chocolate colored one, and it became my favorite run around town bag. My 15 inch laptop fits in it quite nicely.

RE: Storage for purses (Post #163). Do you have any extra hanging closet space? Holders are made that are a little like shoe bags that have spaces large enough for purses.

Veryhappy, The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is July 20 to Aug 5. All Anniversary items are on sale to the general public for the Anniversary price whether you are a Nordstrom cardholder or not. After Aug 5th the items revert back to their regular price. Nordstrom cardholders are allowed to purchase Anniversary items at the sale price beginning July 11th and receive double points on all Anniversary items purchased during pre-Anniversary (July 11-19) and for the first 2 days of the official sale (July 20-22).

Love that expandable tote. Although I enjoy shopping at Nordy’s, I don’t have a card there. what kind of savings does the Anniversary sale offer–is it significant?

What makes the Nordstrom Anniversary sale unique is that ALL of the items are brand new. The tag will show the price during the sale period and the price after Anniversary.

My first shoes 50 years ago came from Nordstrom Best. I’ve been a loyal shopper ever since.
There are good bargains on clothing at the sale, but I always head for the shoe and handbag departments where I can get AGL shoes for $100 off and similar savings on a Longchamp (without going to Paris).

TutuTaxi, thanks for the heads up on the tote at Nordstrom. Bought one for my D. Just started her first job and is traveling on business occasionally. Got Graphite, hope she likes it :)

Does anyone know how to clean the Pliage bags? I bought an expandable tote in July - many thanks to this thread - and managed to get some black marks on the outside while bicycling around a city. I am sick about getting a 2-mo old bag dirty already. (note to self: do NOT listen to DH when he tells you not to worry about tossing a Longchamps tote into a wire bicycle basket.)

I think someone upthread mentioned tossing theirs into a washer using delicates cycle. Let me check… I washed my burgundy Burberry tote with leather straps and bottom using said method without any adverse effects. Just do not put it in the dryer!

Bumping this up because I had a delightful surprise at the Longchamps store in my county today:

Someone in this thread (I think) mentioned that if you take your Longchamps bag to the store, they will repair the corners. So today I had to be near the store – about 25 miles from where I live – and figured I’d bring in my two totes with worn corners. Not only do they repair them, but if this is the first time they’re being repaired, they repair them for free! The lady said it would take six to eight weeks, but I’m still happy!

It’s so nice when a company stands behind its product.
