Looking for AP advice

I am an international student. I had taken 2 biology classes before changing as a junior to prep in the USA. I had received As in both classes and scored in the top 5% so I decided to take AP biology. I am taking challenging classes in other subjects as well now and getting As but in AP biology, where I am working the hardest (crazy homework), I am only getting As in the labs. On the tests, I am getting Bs and Cs. I am wondering if I should go down a level in bio. Which looks better on an application to College, an A in regular junior bio or a B in AP bio? Help!

hammer5 – Why don’t you visit your college counseling office and speak with a counselor. Let the counselor know about some of the colleges you would like to apply to. Ask to see the grade distribution for AP bio which is probably on your school profile which is given to colleges. It could be that a B in that class at your school is OK.

A college counselor from your school would be in the best position to evaluate which option is better for the colleges that interest you.

Thanks Burb parent, I took your advice and spoke to the college counselor and they indeed said a B in AP bio was better than an A in advanced Bio.
Thnx again.
