Thank you, sistersunnie. My thoughts are with you too. And with everyone who has lost loved ones. I agree with oldfort- Valentines day is not about overpriced flowers or dinners.

Jym and sistersunnie ~ I am so sorry. I wish you both strength and peace.

Jym, my condolences. I like your Valentine’s Day thought. The same thing occurred to me a month ago, when my MIL passed away, as she was buried next to my FIL who had passed last year. They had been married 67 years ago, almost to the day, and had such a loving marriage. It’s funny how particular memories stick in your mind. I recall many years ago, when our kids were small, we were all visiting my MIL’s parents. I had been helping my H’s grandmother in the kitchen and came into the living room to find my in-laws in a loving embrace, just sitting on the couch. This was not something that I ever saw my own parents do, and I guess that may be one reason that that fond memory has stuck with me all these years. I thought of it again at her funeral and was happy that they were together again.

sistersunnie, I think of you often and hope you and your girls are doing well.

Jym - very sorry about your dad. Glad he is at peace.

Thoughts are with you, sistersunnie

ANd thanks for your kind words everyone. My dads funeral will be on my cousins birthday tomorrow. Shes a little weirded out by that :(

jym: thinking about you this morning…please let me know if there is anything you need here; I know you are out of your geography…

sistersunnie: thoughts are with you on your loss…

What is with CC these days? so much grief…maybe I am more aware because my FIL passed last month as well, but it just seems like soooo much from our members…

Jym - So sorry for your loss, but rejoicing the togetherness again.

Sistersunnie - I have always felt connected to you because we live in the same state. In fact, I live between your daughter’s two colleges. We were just talking at Bible Study how Valentines Day is so hard for people who have lost a spouse. I feel like I am so not equiped to give you comfort, because I haven’t gone through what you have. But just know that I am going to say a prayer for you today.

My thoughts are with all of you that are missing a loved one.

Jym, I am so sorry for your loss.
