But got another family hub email just now lol. So annoying.
Another! Iām so sick of family hub emails. Michigan state does them too but at least he was admitted there. U Tampa doing them too. Unsure why they do this when kids havenāt even been admitted yet.
My daughter received her admissions this morning. Was surprised to see anything on Thanksgiving but it was a nice surprise! Applied mid-October.
Got mine yesterday evening. Applied 10/25
Are any of those, that have received a decision, from OOS? I know UofSC has been sending their acceptances for In-State only rn, so just trying to see if that may be what LSU is also doing (tho they claim to be rolling).
Yes. I know 3 kids who have received admission. My son and two others. They are all OOS. We live in Texas.
Yes, OOS in Texas
Hi! My daughter (Texas) applied 11/21 and was accepted 11/27. For those of you with experience with LSU, are merit scholarships common?
Out of state. Daughter applied on Oct 10, and received her acceptance on Dec 6.
Daughter applied 10/25
OOS
History Major
Received Acceptance on 11/12
Iām thinking if your child has a more popular major, decisions may take longer?
Where can you see all the merit-based scholarships for the Fall 2025 class? I can only find a page that shows the top two scholarships but not all the scholarships that freshman will be considered for. Lots of schools have a table where you can see scholarships on a table that shows you what GPA and SAT/ACT scores you need to get certain merit awards. I canāt find one for LSU.
What is taking so long with admissions? Competitive students who applied in early August are still waiting. Is this normal?
I would call. Most people I know have heard by now. I would just be very polite and ask if everything is okay.
I called again this week and was told that if we havenāt heard anything yet it is not necessarily a bad thing. If they reviewed your childās stuff and itās a no they would have sent a denial letter. My daughter applied in September and still waiting.
Yeah, weāve been waiting since mid October⦠crickets⦠just need to remain patient I guess.
Same. We are patiently waiting. I read decisions are released based on test scores with higher test scores hearing back first. Not sure how true that is. Nerve wracking for sure.
My son applied test optional so .
Son just heard from the Honors College and got in. YAY. So be on the lookout if you applied.
My D25 got in honors college today too!
My child got in OOS but we just checked the Financial Aid site and she did not get any financial aid or any scholarships. We love LSU but do not think it is worth $53,000 a year. The post-graduation employment stats from LSU for her major do not bear out a healthy ROI for a $212,000 college cost. Oh, well, easy come, easy go.
On the other hand, she got a $90,000 scholarship from another SEC flagship state university, and has been invited to honors colleges in 3 universities. Although the process is stressful and confusing, it feels like our kids will end up at the right place.
