For our extended family gift exchange I have drawn the name of my brother. The gift theme is “food” - which means anything to do with food - actual food, kitchen stuff, gift certificates, cookbooks - anything related.

My bro is a “foodie” but two things near and dear to him are
Anything “bacon”
Making/creating unique homemade cocktails.

I eat bacon but don’t adore it. I don’t drink, so cocktails aren’t my bag.

If one of these is your guilty pleasure, what would be a great, pleasing gift for you?

I couldn’t resist a google search of both at once, and here’s some interesting results I came up with, apparently bacon cocktails are the new cosmo:

Or simply search bacon cocktail on google shopping and there’s bacon flavored rim salt for anyone’s favorite bacon bloody mary or bacon infused margarita.

That’s pretty darn funny. Funny is good! I could team that up with something else…they will be traveling from NYC so it would be best not to get something that has to be refrigerated (like bacon- ha)

Zingerman’s offers a bacon club but it’s out of the price range, unfortunately. I’d be thrilled to receive that as a gift! Perhaps some deluxe gourmet bacon for Christmas morning? I’ve also seen bacon infused cocktails and if memory serves me correctly, I think I saw a small batch bourbon with bacon already infused?

I actually was seriously considering something Zingerman’s - he’s a UM grad and they visit AA2 and Zingerman’s every trip home. It’s a possibility - surely SOMETHING there would fit the bill!

I’m sure you’ll find something at Zingerman’s. (I’m a U of M alum too and I order holiday gifts from them all the time.) We order meats from Heritage Foods and they offer great quality meats–pork, beef, lamb, turkey, etc. (A foodie would love their stuff). I just checked the bacon and what they offer is above your price range. However–they do offer bacon pieces (to use in Carbonara, etc) that is $29. Don’t know how strict you are about sticking to the real price. Anyway, here’s the website and the information.
[Heritage Bacon Ends](http://store.nexternal.com/hfusa/bacon-ends---3-lbs-in-one-lb-pks-p680.aspx)

They recently came out with bacon soda. A case should be in price range.

I think the cocktail lover might like a book on making infusions. Infusions are all the rage in high end bars and result in wonderful cocktails.

Also in Zingerman’s for $29.99 is Zingerman’s Guide to Better Bacon, the latest book from the co-founder. Lots of recipes, including bacon-fat mayonnaise. Hardcover and free shipping.

Also if you include the secret code DEVOUR you’ll get 10% off on mail-order.

Check out “Cocktails” published by Assouline. $18.95 on their website, assouline.com. Their books are absolutely stunning, and I believe that you can only buy them on the website or in one of their stores.
