Low grades in tough subjects?

All throughout my high school career, I’ve consistently gotten Cs in my Honors Math and Science subjects. (In 9th, the first semester was a C; the 2nd I switched to regular and got an A). I get all As in every other subject. Will this look bad on my transcripts? I’ve always taken all honors and three APs this year.

Why are you taking Honors Math and Science? Is it because you’re interested, or because you just want it to look good on your transcript?

C’s are a little too low…but we really need to know the context…is your high school really competitive?

My school is organized in small learning communities, and the regular classes are really crappy. My high school is competitve for a large, overcrowded public school, in that half of the graduating class wants to go to Cal States and UCs. I want to go out of state though.

I didn’t know about college then, so I just took them because in my SLC they only have honors math and science teachers.

how low of a C? like an 85? or an 80?

isn’t a C like 70-79?

let me introduce you to nj public schools.

Mine was a low C. But at my school a C is a C.
I wish I took the regulars back then. Even if everytime I entered that class I would’ve felt like shooting myself in the face.

i got the same grade in honors geometry as i did in normal trig, the normal trig was so easy that i couldnt bring myself to care. you might not have done any better?

wow…that’s harsh is it an easy school?

I also go to a public nj school we have

90-100 = 4
80-89 = 3
70-79 = 2
60-69 =1

+1 for Honors or AP classes

lucky gurll!!! i think my school is easy if you take regular level classes. honors and APs are ridiculously hard at times. my school has made honors and APUSH classes that people almost immediately regret taking. also, on the first day of honors alg. 2 in freshman year, my teacher warned “if you get any guidance passes scheduled for this class, change them. you cant afford to miss anything.”
