LSU! MSEE!! Geaux Tigers!!! Powerrrr!!!!

Sorry, big fan of Top Gear, couldn’t help myself. Anyways hello everyone. I’ve been admitted into LSU for the fall 2012 MSEE program. The thing is… my chosen area of post grad study is power, (Semiconduct Power Devices, Faulted Power System Analysis, Power Systems Dynamics etc as given on their MSEE power concentration page) but the schedule I got off of the registrar’s website indicates other subjects like advanced machines and special topics in power… so I’m sort of wondering… is there anyone here from LSU who could shed some light on the matter? As in are the other subjects offered even if one student wants to study or is there a certain no. of students you need to have to have a course offered? Or will they be offered in the future? I mean it’s no big rush since I still have a couple of months before I leave for the US. I know I’m supposed to meet up with my grad advisor before I register for any classes, but anyone’s opinion here even on anything generally related to LSU or Baton Rouge would be greatly appreciated.
