LUMS admission offer query.

I got an admission offer from LUMS a week ago. However I got into MGSHSS, rather than SDSB, which was my preference. MGSHSS was my second option.
However I’m not really interested in studying any of the degrees offered in MGSHSS.
I wanted to know if anyone has an idea of the admission policy at LUMS since the deadline to pay the fees is 11th April.
I received my offer quite early and I was surprised to see that it was from MGSHSS because I thought i’d easily get into SDSB.
What I wanted to know is did I get rejected by SDSB and then got offered a seat at MGSHSS, or that I have higher merit in MGSHSS as compared to SDSB that’s why I got offered a seat there first?
And then maybe LUMS might offer me a seat at SDSB later on, maybe in May or June, as other students have a higher merit than me at this point in time?
Because I emailed LUMS as well and what they said was ‘Please note that at this time you only qualify for MGSHSS. Switching to another programme is based on merit and availability of seats. if seats become available before the commencement of classes and you qualify for the better preference, you will be informed accordingly.’
So if any student has gone through the same problem or is going through it, or has an idea about their admission policy, please try to help me out! Thank you!

Also, what chances do you think I have from getting an offer from SDSB now too? I got 3 A*’s and 6 A’s in my IG’s and 3 A’s at a levels. Plus a sat score of 1370.

@TheDaVinciCode98 Hey, I also applied to both schools. SDSB was my first choice and MGSHSS was my second. My SAT score was 1440 and I also had 3 As in my AS level. I dont think we didnt ‘qualify’ for SDSB rather I think MGSHSS has higher merit. Also, you can go to LUMS and spend your first year there while studying the courses you prefer i.e. the additional courses you will take other than the ones provided by your school. In the second year, you will be able to get a transfer from MGSHSS to SDSB. However, a friend told me that most of the students are transferring from SDSB to MGSHSS rather than the opposite. I hope this answers your query.

Oh. That makes sense.
I learnt that transfers to SDSB were banned this year because they took in too many freshman and there were no seats available. Might be the same case next year too.
LUMS does give out revised offers though. Because students reject their offers for other unis, and some students reject it because they weren’t given enough financial aid by LUMS so are unable to afford it.
So LUMS then gives out offers to those who didn’t get into their first preference, based on merit ofc.
I know someone who got a revised offer today, from SDSB to LUMS. And I think there’s more to come.
So let’s just hope we get a revised offer soon iA, haha.
