LUMS Fall 2020 Admissions (Mega-Thread)

does personal statement really matters?

I’ve heard that it does

@Emmmmmy what are your credentials?

my credentials are pathetic i have no hope honestly. 8bs in olevels 1100 sat score 2As and B in alevels with decent ecs and strong personal statement. @misbahnoor22

Has anybody who got accepted receive the duplicate copy? We literally have to mail it back to them which takes time and the deadline is 8th may

@Emmmmmy noooo your credentials are fine. The whole admission system is so vague, I honestly don’t know the basis for admission in LUMS. Stay optimistic

Thankyou for your support means a lot @misbahnoor22

@Emmmmmy Don’t denigrate yourself man. Your credentials don’t define you; they’re just a bunch of numbers and letters.

I don’t believe the personal statement matters much, probably only about 3-5% of the entire process. It can, however, tip the scales in your favor if your application is borderline.

@FasihZ Thanks a lot, i hope it really does in my case

@SHIZA12 I understand that but by next, how early do they exactly mean?..cause idk about Pakistan but where I live, the earliest you can register for(possibly) is August and the exam is after the academic year commences.

Ik a lot of people at LUMS, and all of them have told me that the personal statement can either make or break your application so I think it’s really important

This wait sucks so bad. I honestly am just starting to feel like I’m waiting for a rejection at this point and it’s so demotivating

Its perfectly normal, dont worry. Some of my friends have really good credentials but they still havent gotten their acceptances. It all seems a bit random, in the way they give out acceptances

An applicant got his portal updated today. Did anyone else get the decision?

not yet

Nope.

Has anyone who applied to SAHSOL received their offer yet?

I got mine on the 17th

Is there any chance lums might be changing its grade requirements for A2 this year due to the predicted grades thing
