guys please email admissions office to lower down their grade requirement this year !

@botking7789 I dont think so im looking for one too :frowning:

I hate to say it, but no. LUMS in Pakistan’s best, and the standard needs to be maintained. By admitting low credentials candidates, you simply detract from the achievement of the ones who truly deserve an admission. I know this is harsh, but it is what it is. Meritocracy exists for a reason.

BTW, congrats to everyone who got it!

@selenium27 done!

@FasihZ yea but thing is, this is a weird year . We have a pandemic. Plenty of students weren’t able to give their O and A level exams and will be given expected grades, which they may or may not deserve. Plenty of students weren’t able to give their SATs. Universities in general should take a step to aid them in this regard. IBA lowered its grade requirements too and it’s a great school. The only people who have their results are the one who took gap years in this case. They had the benefit of not being given expected grades. So should lums favour them? No, not at all. Yes, merit is important but circumstances should be taken into account as well esp when they are affecting such a large population.

@Macfishcheese I totally agreee with you ?

@Macfishcheese If all students suffered, then what’s the point of demanding that LUMS lowers its requirements? LUMS has to choose from a pool of applicants, and if the entire pool has poor grades, then LUMS will simply choose the best from that pool, and the best will have poor grades as well, but better than the rest.

Lowering the requirement lowers the standards of LUMS and floods the market with applicants.

@“Samiy@123” you also email them pls

@FasihZ We all know LUMS is one of the best institutes of Pakistan and those who were offered conditional offers passed all the “standards” set by the university.
Appealing them to lower grade requirement is because this year, there were no exams, teachers were required to send in grades while this process by the British Council even if it is the fairest, EVERYONE knows there will be a large pool of students who would be disadvantaged. Most of us study in the last few months and as quite a few teachers themselves have admitted that a student who would normally get a C on a class test/ internal mock exam, would end up getting an A or an A* in the CAIE. As @Macfishcheese said, this is a wierd year indeed, with unprecedented events happening every day LUMS isnt that dumb that they lower their grade requirements to such an extent that it lowers their standard.

Also @FasihZ I was talking about lowering their conditional offer of CBB and nowhere asked to lower their o level/ sat or matric requirements. This is where i would def agree with you that these standards should be there as they are.

The conditional offer this year MUST be lowered because there could be unfair means teachers could reward their favourites with better grades and punishing those whom they do not like for some wierd xyz reasons! those who agree, please email them the same thing…

If you’re talking about only A-level grades, then I’m on board. That’s understandable.
They can still differentiate among students on the basis of their SATs. But it’s too late; the admission process is nearing its end.
