how do u know if you’re waitlisted
Hey Guys! Has LUMS clarified when classes are starting? And if they’re on campus or online?
Got waitlisted and they said the final decision will be given by 20th August now ? the people who got accepted today what’s the last date of payment?

LUMS admissions department is hitting a new low of inefficiency by letting students know about their status at this point in time. January 31st is the last day of submission of admission forms and they have all the time in the world to evaluate the applications for 6 damn months, but no lets F with the students by dropping a nuke. So kind of LUMS to tell us to go and explore other alternatives at the day when another top business institute (IBA), and possibly its closest substitute closes its final deadline for undergrad. I see a connection here which I don’t wanna talk about. Dirty games here and there.
PS: Not saying that they should be absolute in their decision making and the idea of waitlisting should not be there, but they should inform about it beforehand or during the time when other alternatives are available for us to explore - as suggested in the auto-generated mail. Fuming right now. Emotions might have been involved while writing this draft.

@Offer001 I absolutely agree with you. Also, IBA’s admission system is very transparent compared to LUMS’s VV Vague system of choosing students.

got waitlisted yesterday. i think it’s absolutely unacceptable to let stduents know at this point in time that they should ‘go explore other alternatives’ when there are no possible alternatives available. if they had to put us on the waiting list/reject, they could’ve done it sooner so maybe we could’ve taken their advice and explored other alternatives. i think even they’re aware deadlines to other reputable unis have closed. i dont think it takes a lot of effort to know and tell that you want to put a student on waitlist or reject them. regardless, kudos to those who got in!! i hope God has something planned for us on the waiting lists/rejected too.

@neha1255 and @Offer001 you both couldn’t have said it better. It is unethical to waitlist or reject anyone so late. However, do know the decision to waitlist depends how many students are accepting LUMS’ offer. The same goes for rejection, of course. Nevertheless, it’s still LUMS’ responsibility to make decisions early; 6 months is a damn eternity.
Luckily, I already applied to IBA’s Econ and Math program, and I recommend you both do too. That is, if you’re interested in Econ and Math or CS. The deadline is 22 July; today’s the last day. The application is short and simple.

Got rejected from SSE and SDSB
Creds: 95 matric, 92 fsc, no SAT, good extra curriculars(headboy, Chinese language, football and hockey etc)
If my SSE test went bad(which it didn’t), I atleast hoped for SDSB, but evidently their merit is above that of Ivy League.
It’s hurtful to think that the ‘no SAT’ might’ve played a role here, but Allah janay.
