lunchtime laugh - pachebel rant on utube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdxkVQy7QLM</a></p>

I just love this bit.

Thanks for posting. I love it. I had to suffer through a souped-up version of Pachebel’s Canon at several airports recently. I thought I’d go crazy.

this was sent to us because dd2 is a cellist, but we all loved it.

I’m home with kids today, (NY is taking Regents tests), and they both loved it. Younger son likes Pachabel’s canon from “the first violin’s point of view of course.” Apparently he recently played it in a four violin quartet, and he was very careful not to volunteer for the cello part on that one!

This is hysterical! My sister is a professional cellist in Los Angeles and teaches at CalArts. I just sent her the link, though I imagine any number of her students may have already turned her on to it. I laughed so hard I cried!

DS2 used to play cello in 4th and 5th grade…and remembers the cello line to this day…not fondly, I might add!

This is also one of my dad’s favorite pieces and is somewhat of an inside joke in my family – so I just sent the link to them all – THANKS!

LOL. Can’t wait to show my D (violin player).

forwarded to my musician who has complained about this to me several times…and I thought my S was just being misanthropic–

Back in the day - in the late 70’s, when this became popular, we’d refer to this as Taco Bell cannon

Thanks oldinjersey - we loved it!

If you can stand one more, check out the 5:20 minute guitar version from “guitar90” played by a kid called funtwo – the first link next to it. Pretty neat.

Another Youtube snip that was forwarded to our older daughter-- check out the 6-minute “Evolution of Dance.”

We have time on our hands today as we wait out the stomach bug that’s been the scourge of our middle school. :(

I wonder if that was the same guy who came to my school my freshmen year for orientation… we had a comedian who did a set based on Canon in D

personal favorite arrangement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZPEuEZOlsg</a> if you want to skip the beginning, start at 40 seconds. You can feel the power (sitting mere feet away from 64 brass players) even though it’s a crappy recording quality.
