M.E.T. Applicants Class of 2024

Whoops @MrAwesomeBoss56

@MrAwesomeBoss56

Gotcha. The only thing that’s not making sense is: on the official MET website says those who get the interview and also get into engineering will automatically be put on the MET waitlist.

there’s 180-200 interviewees and only 40-50 spots, So they’re gonna put 150 people on the waitlist? Wouldn’t that be too many people on the waitlist since there’re so few spots?

@catlip4 @autumnspast

@acceptanceflood I would assume that very few people get off the waitlist because the interview selects engineering students by their merit in business, and perhaps it is also selected by major. I am MechE by the way, good luck/congratulations all.

Hey @xyyez3 did you get an interview?

No, I have not heard anything yet.

Previous interviewees care to share some of the interview questions?

I saw a reddit post with all of the questions in an MET interview while I was researching the program. Since then, I have not been able to find it. The interview seems to be questions about program fit and business experience, as it is for Haas.

Has anyone gotten a interview request that signed up for IEoR?

Hi everyone,

I changed my undeclared engineering major to eecs+ business today and I was unaware that it was under the MET program is super competitive.
People have finished interviews by now. What should I do??

Am i done for berkeley?

@BlazingThunder Did you apply to MET back in November? The whole MET program is competitive regardless of the engineering track. If you didn’t get an invitation to interview doesn’t mean your app is doomed. You will just be pushed into the regular decision pool. RD decisions are at the end of March, I believe your portal will give you the exact date.

When will MET decisions be out??? They say early Feb, but is there a more exact estimate?

@acceptanceflood My S received his email notification on Feb 11th. That was a few years ago but I would think roughly around then.

Also, how was the interview? I’m sure you crushed it. Were there any interview questions you want to share for future generations?

@acceptanceflood did everyone get an interview notification for those who qualified?

@autumnspast
I think it was ok. he asked me to tell me about myself, and that already took me quite some time out of the 20 min interview. he also asked, stats say 97% of silicon v entreprenuers failed, why do you think you’d succeed…? and also questions like best quality about you and give me an example of why. he asked probs about 4-5 questions tops and we ran out of time.

@daone74
You’d have to get an interview invitation in order to be further considered. or in other words, if you get in eventually, you must’ve had an interview.

Also I’m getting mixed answers as to if you get the interview invitation you’re in for CoE. I’ve been going through a difficult phase, and hearing that the interview meant Berkeley acceptance really cheered me up a lot, but now some are saying interview doesn’t mean CoE acceptance… so I’m very ambivalent right now… hope someone could confirm… i need to be cheered up again lol.

Ones who are saying interview doesnt mean CoE acceptance came from reddit, past MET threads, and even a current MET student.

@MrAwesomeBoss56

@acceptanceflood Thanks for the questions it will help future applicants.

Re: the CoE: My S mentioned that he had heard rumors about that as well but when we discussed it we both thought it very unlikely that they would be iffy on a COE candidate but move forward with the Haas interview, more or less completely wasting that professors time. That just wouldn’t make sense. Either way stay positive, to have gotten this far means you will have many acceptances to choose from, keep us posted.

@autumnspast
well i didn’t get the USC scholarship though, so that made me question my competitiveness a bit… but thank you anyway!

I applied but DID NOT get an interview…

anyone not get an interview?

@BAMMBI
then you’re not chosen for met. yes some got the interview
