yeah, I get that! My parents are supportive but need good FA and are still super unfamiliar with the fancy shmancy New England preppiness lol
My parents were like do whatever as long as I get good FA(im applying for 11th so it’s whatever)
I don’t think my friend understand the competitive level for BS applications. They have already assumed II got acpeted and I’m going to the new england lol.

One school emailed my parents and literally asked if they were expecting to ‘inherit from my grandparents soon’ like do you want my poor english teacher paying for chemo grandma to die???

My mom was like ■■■ and just said that my grandparents are not in a position to support my education. I felt so bad because my mom is the woman who sacrificed her Harvard acceptance because of money

I got accepted to Miss Porter’s w very little FA and a small merit scholarship, unfortunately not enough but it was one of my ‘safeties’ (lowkey nowhere is a safety), so a little sad but its ok
