Happy New Year everyone!!! Since the BS application deadline is coming up in 2 weeks and there’s a lot of discussion here, I just want to start the thread for this year.

I think I have watched the “Big Blue and You-Prepare for takeoff!” video over 20 times and I’m still amazed at Andover’s campus every single time lol. Good luck to other applicants !

andover, exeter, choate, concord, hotchkiss and madeira! pls chance me I put a thread up
I ended up only applying to a few selective boarding schools as I got accepted into a top nyc prep school last fall. Right now it’s Deerfield, Loomis, Andover, and Lawrenceville. I know chances are slim but I’ve got a backup plan if I don’t get any acceptances loll. What about you?
I’ve applied to Cate, Thacher, Andover, Exeter, and Choate. Chances are slim for me too lol.

Lollll I’ve just been finishing up my applications so rn I’ve been counting down the days until Jan 15 instead of Mar 10th.
Same lol. And some schools have their due date on Feb 1.
Which schools other than Andover are Feb 1?
It’s a safety school not one of the schools I listed.
I’m pretty sure most schools are Feb 1 since they don’t actually start reviewing the applications till February. They just prefer that you submit it earlier.
I highly recommend you pay attention to due dates as that is not correct.

Suddenly thinking four schools is not enough. All four are done. Maybe do two more quickly this week? I think it’s far more competitive than we originally realized.
Does everyone feel a bit of rising worry near Jan 15. Do we suppress it or add more schools?

I would add some safety schools if the schools you applied to are really competitive, especially if boarding is your first choice. Maybe look at schools with later deadlines like Hill? Good luck!!!

I agree with this - pay attention to the schools deadlines. Most are January 15th.

I’d be careful with the term “safety school” when talking about boarding schools. Even schools with higher acceptance rates (i.e., above, say, 25%) are still looking for specific types of students to fill their classes. A good fit still seems to be the most important factor - even above high SSAT scores, athletic accomplishments, and musical talent.
