I think most people on the West coast got packages from USPS
They don’t have a specific “order” on the waitlists- they will usually take somebody as needed. For example, if they need a soccer player and you happen to play soccer, you have a much higher chance of getting off the waitlist. Also important to note that schools anticipate yield rate, so some years they may not go to waitlist at all.
You can also improve your chance but continuing to show interest in the school, mantaining a relationship with the AO, etc, but in the end it is out of your hands and mostly up to fate
i got waitlisted from taft as well 
but keeping my head high bc everyone ends up where they are supposed to go

UPS shows a package from Watertown CT en route…That’s where Taft is….would they send a waitlist package? I am so confused
There are past threads about waitlists. I suggest reading them, and no doubt after tomorrow there will be tons of post regarding them. Wls do not get much traction and it is usually to fill a particular hole in the class that the school was making (e.g., male, soccer player). Schools are pretty good at accepting enough students to balance out those that will decide to go elsewhere, but they will go to the waitlist as the need arises. Schools will send out emails asking if you want to stay on their waitlist, and you can send a compelling letter. Unfortunately, school rarely know before 4/10. So non refundable deposits for another BS would need to be made should you decide to go that route. Sometimes things change over the summer. It is rare on this forum ( but occasionally) that someone posts getting off the waitlist.
Looks like your child got into some wonderful choices and should be very proud. Love the school(s) that loves you. Highly recommend revisit days as he may find that his 1st choice has been replaced.

yeah, you need to dig pretty far. I’ve only been able to find a couple as well

that is odd. it may just be the standard “thank you for applying” thin envelope, but if you happen to live nearby, it might just be something completely unrelated. For example i live in Massachusetts and in the past, we’ve gotten packages sent from North Andover and Andover that were just misdelivered (this was before we were applying, so we didn’t freak out about it) but just goes to show mistakes do happen

public charter but we have a well known rigorous curriculum
there’s a small private k8 school in my town that routinely sends 2-5 kids to Andover and I’m extremely jealous. My school barely has a system for asking for recs
