Definitely the latter. I really see the essay as the one space where you’re speaking directly to the admissions committee in your own voice. I wrote mine myself and just revised it a few times to clean up grammar and spelling. I didn’t want too many outside opinions shaping it, because then it starts to sound less like you. That said, having someone glance over it for basic errors is fine asw, we’re often blind to our own typos and mistakes.
I also wrote a lot of my essays the day before the deadline.. so I didn’t have any time to get them proofread lol, but AOs seemed to like them.
Could you maybe send me some of your essays? Just for me to look at how good an essay should be

last year my application was pretty bad, my ECs were decent but I failed to describe them in an impactful way.

Almost surely not. This idea has been floating around a long time, I am pretty sure schools are typically not going to initiate any sort of trackable packages until they have released their decisions by portal and/or email.

I’m just rereading a lot of books that I already read just to get my mind off of it. When you look back on like Jan, you think that the time went by so fast, but when you look to the future, it’s like it’s too far away, but also too close at the same time.

My parents are tracking the packages, but I kinda don’t want them to. Because if there is no package, it’s basically game over.
No, it isn’t.
And that sort of statement harms you, as well as your other applicants, if they believe the untrue statement
Last year, our address got one notification out of four. Others, who got zero, are now attending schools that obviously accepted them despite a lack of package notification.
Notifications, or lack there of, mean very little.
The wait is understandably stressful. No need to make it more so in the eleventh hour by attaching your hopes to very unreliable systems of notification from multiple government and private mail carriers. Deep breath, and exhale.
