M10--Sunday

New to this forum (and to BS admissions!). DD is on pins and needles awaiting decisions on M!0. Since it happens to fall on a Sunday, does anyone know when the decisions will be released? 2 of her schools are on Gateway and one is not. That one says on their website, “Decisions will be mailed by March 10”. I am hoping they will also put the decision on the portal because if we have to wait for USPS, I will lose my mind. Any insight would be helpful!

Each school is different, but there has been a lot of past discussion about M10 when it falls on weekends in older posts.

Decisions are becoming more and more automated so most schools have the timing down to hit portals M10 or be delivered by mail right before. Also, stalk their Instas. They will usually give some indication that things are “ready to go”.

Have you checked out this thread? Accessing decisions on the SAO - #6 by alind

Thank you, this is helpful. I didn’t realize the decisions would be made on the individual portals. I have the pages bookmarked and logins noted. Only one of the schools actually says that decisions will be posted on M10 at 7am. No other info about the others. I wonder if that timing will be true of the other two or, like I said in my OP, we will have to wait for snail mail for the one (surely not, right?).

I wouldn’t count on 7am unless they stated so. If a school has a portal, I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t need to wait for snail mail. What comes in snail mail is usually merch. I think students look for USPS notifications in an attempt to get info ahead of M10.

The one portal specifically says 7am. Nothing on the other two so who knows. But if they can just digitally release the admissions results I guess why not 7am? Even on a Sunday? IDK, that’s why I came here with the question. :joy:

This year, based on the emails I’ve received (or at least, that’s my understanding), all schools are planning to release acceptances on M10, and not on the Friday before M10 as they did in previous years when M10 fell on weekends. Additionally, I would like to advise against worrying about USPS or other mailing services because every year it tends to cause unnecessary stress.

I dont understand how to post on threads, so I’ll ask this question here:

My child i applying to Boarding school for a GP year.
He does lacrosse, theater and engineering. He sent a theater reel to theater department heads, at all of the schools he is applying to, with a short bio and show of interest. 3 showed great interest and requested additional interviews.
Other schools zero acknowledgment of email and reel.
Is it safe to say that those school will be a flat out no at this point?
Unable to visit any schools because of distance. Standard Zoom interviews for all except Andover. With additional theater interviews at 3 schools. Some lacrosse coaches reached out, however he doesn’t have a reel ( plans on applying to engineering programs with D1 sports so didn’t plan ahead with a reel)
His stats from a competitive HS
first generation born and college Latino.
3.78
SAT 1440
ACT 33
Theater, lead roles
Lacrosse, some club, but live in California where its not as competitive as east coast.
thoughts?

Interesting to read some 2019 thread posts and I guess I didn’t realize that though M10 2019 was on a Sunday like 2024, most of the M10 schools released portals on m9/Saturday.

I wonder why that was and why different this year? No matter of course, we know it’s M10 this year, just curious.

No idea.
