Macbeth and Modern movies?

Alright HSL, time for some creativity. :stuck_out_tongue:
This isn’t really homework help. Rather, it’s more like group brainstorming help.
For English, my group received a project that featured turning a scene from Macbeth into a scene from any modern-day movie (1980s-2009). The scene still keeps all the same lines from the Macbeth scene. The main focus is basically incorporating the themes and general character personalities (and associated film nuances e.g. costume colors, background symbols, etc.).

So far, my group has had some OK ideas, but none of us just have the time to watch some of the more amazing, non-mainstream movies out there. (ex. Garden State) The hard part is getting the lines and scene from Macbeth to match that of the movie scenes.

Anyone a movie fanatic/fan and/or Shakespeare expert with some movie scene ideas? :P

“Scotland, PA” may be a good place to start. Good movie about Macbeth.

Oh, sorry, I should have elaborated. We are supposed to pick a movie that isn’t based off of Macbeth.

For example, a group last year chose Batman: The Dark Knight. They changed the Joker manipulating Harvey Dent to become Two-face (in the hosptial) scene by using the lines from Macbeth, specifically the scene where Lady Macbeth “seduces” and convinces Macbeth to commit the murder (the first real act of evil that Macbeth takes).

The Lion King is supposedly based on Hamlet, but can easily be reworked to fit Macbeth.
