Maine in March?

Yes. The temps are warming above freezing so the ground is loosening up and a significant rain/wind storm last weekend. Sneakers would be fine for Bay Back or any other paved walking trail but boots will be needed at places like Wolfe’s Neck State Park.

Before Sunday, there wasn’t even snow at our cabin in the mountains, and we’ve been told we’re located in a particular small area where we get dumped on more than surrounding places. I’m kind of hoping the snow they got Sunday melts quickly because we want to go up there for the eclipse with a big group next month. I don’t think some of these folks would do well on snowmobiles…

We just got back from a few days in Maine visiting our son at Bates! Check out the Baxter Pub in Lewiston if you are going to be going through there, and definitely second the recommendation for Wild Oats in Brunswick! We usually stay in Freeport, and check out Winslow Memorial park which is a few minutes outside of downtown Freeport.

Please feel free to DM if you need any other recommendations!

We saw Jerry Seinfeld last night. Aside: He put on a fantastic show. High energy, clean, and no profanity!! I was so impressed. He turns 70 in April, a month after my husband.

Anyway, the first part of his routine was about Portland, how much he likes the city but teasing us about the miserable weather in March. I thought about this thread!

My husband will be experiencing Camden Maine next weekend. He wants to be able to do a couple of bike rides, but realizes it’s likely to be too cold.

In the afternoon we were just in hoodies. The temperature varied a lot throughout the day.

He plans to take winter bike riding clothes and his bike…but it’s supposed to get colder this week. I know he will try to get out for a ride.
