Makeup again! Foundation for older skin?

The Laura Mercier 3 in 1? That’s what I use and it’s the best I’ve found at this price point…I think $38.

You folks owe it to yourselves to beg, borrow, or steal a sample of Guerlain foundation. In no way does it feel or look like I have foundation on, yet my skin looks pretty amazing when I’m wearing it. It has a light, very natural coverage. It’s marketed to a mature woman. I’ve been on a quest to find the perfect foundation and I literally tried more than a dozen foundations, cc and bb creams, and tinted moisturizers. This is the clear winner with a nice foundation from Hourglass coming in (a distant) second.

@ams5796 You got me to look at Guerlain … Which of the Guerlain products do you use? There are a few on the webpage.

The Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Foundation.

Before you splurge on an expensive beauty product, ask the SA to give you a take home sample. One application on the store may not be enough to test it fully.

Lingerie De Peau. I’m putting underwear on my face…

Yikes! At $60 per small bottle that’s expensive lingerie!!

The price of beauty…

As long as it can cover a lot of ass… er, I mean face!

Have you seen how much panties by La Perla cost?! That $60 is a bargain.

I have a feeling that bottle will last a good long time. A little bit goes a long way.

Bunsen said a bad word! Jail bars for you!

Oops. If Obama can say it in prime time… And CC did not bleep it out?! fair game.

Bought the dang undies for my face to give it a try. I am running low on my Chanel thing, so decided to experiment. If it does not work for me, niece will add it to her collection of beauty junk.

I am not much of a makeup wearer… but I research it.

FYI Sephora accepts returns if you purchase something and are not satisfied.

One more comment about concealer for under eye circles. Mine circles are very dark, inherited from my dad. I’ve tried so many products including Laura Mercier and Cle de Peau. I didn’t find that Cle de Peau covered well enough. LM was good but I started using IT Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Under Eye and have been happy with it. Nothing can truly cover my dark circles but this product has been the best. I also like that it’s one cream so application is quicker than LM too.

With regard to foundation, I really like Laura Mercier but recently bought Chanel’s foundation (would have to check which one) and like it too. Both provide very nice coverage and really even my skin tone out. I think the Chanel leaves less on my phone which is my only complaint about LM. I haven’t used a primer thus far but I know some people swear by them.

Update:. Went to Macy’s and tried the Este Lauder double cover and it’s great coverage, but still very thick. So continued down to Sephora where they analyzed my color with some device and tried Smashbox’s 15 hour coverage. $100 later I had a green primer to cover my red veins, a foundation brush, the foundation and several samples of overnight moisturizer. She says I need more hydration,. I drink water constantly though and use moisturizer night and morning, so not sure how to cure that!

The foundation brush is intimidating! Hopefully I can figure it out. Getting old is just so complicated!

Does the Bare Minerals Complexion have a scent at all?
I really need non fragrance products.

^^ It says it’s formulated without fragrance http://www.bareescentuals.com/Complexion-Rescue/USmastercomplexionrescue,en_US,pd.html#productDetailsSection

No fragrance.

Cool!
