My son applied at the end of October and did not get his acceptance package until the beginning of Jan. He is a swimmer and was also a recruit so I think that is what delayed his paperwork. He is so excited to study and swim at Manhattan. I doubt he would do the Arches since he will most likely start swim training at the end of August and be on campus early anyway. He will be signing up for the April 1 accepted students day.
Any one get an email today telling them that a revised award letter was mailed? Curious to see how much more they will offer and whether it will be merit or FA.
I didn’t get an email. I had called admissions and was told only a higher SAT score would translate to more merit aid. Completely turned off by their response considering other colleges were happy to supply links to apply for more merit and financial aid. Not sure what’s going on there but not happy and it’s now dropped to the bottom of the list now as a result.
S received another $3500, a special engineering scholarship. No idea why as we had not sent in any updated information, no new scores, etc. S did have a high ACT score which was submitted in his original application though, so maybe that is why? Anyway, we were happy to receive as it now puts Manhattan in the running.
Congratulations to your son! @taverngirl
Did you find out by mail?
Can I ask what ACT score he had?
@Bkmomto3 yes, they sent the revised award via mail. He had a 32 ACT. It’s the only reason I could think of for why he received the additional merit.
Thanks for the info. My son didn’t get anything. He had a 31. Oh well. ?
@Bkmomto3 not really sure why s got additional money - the ACT was my best guess. Maybe it was just something for engineering majors. What is your son’s major?
He’s going for engineering too. @taverngirl
I see on Instagram they are having admitted student preview days. I can’t find anything about this on their website. All I see is admitted student days in April. Have you heard anything about an engineering preview day?
@bkmomto3 I don’t have Insta. What is the difference between the two? We are signed up for the admitted students day but might be interested in the engineering preview as well. When we visited last year it was an open house and there was nothing specifically for engineering, nor were we able to see the new engineering facility or that area of campus.
