Always fun to check back in this time of year, gives me a chance to see what’s going on over here. It’s no fun now that my son is all in charge of his life (more or less). So with no further ado, a quick cut and past of instructions from last year. I’ve renewed the Yahoo! group.

First and foremost, you have to have a (free) Yahoo! mail account. No big deal, if you don’t already have one you can visit mail.yahoo.com to set one up. Make sure you’re signed in to your account before proceeding.

Go to College Basketball Tournament Pick’em - Yahoo! Sports [College Basketball Tournament Pick’em - Yahoo! Sports](<a href=“Yahoo Fantasy Men's Bracket Madness”>Yahoo Fantasy Men's Bracket Madness)
Click on “Join a Group”
Click “Join Group”
Group ID number is 34781, Password is ccparents
Select the button “Create a New Bracket” and name your bracket – I suggest using your college confidential name or some close variant so we’ll know who is who
Click to show you have read the terms and conditions
Click “Submit”

That should do it. Once the brackets are out you can come back and fill in the bracket. You may enter up to 3 different brackets

well, i’m predicting vandy will get upset once again in the first round, but, like past brackets, i feel like, as an alum, i’m obligated to have them reach at least the sweet 16

That’d be nice, but Vndy hasn’t been doing to well. I’m hoping for either 'cuse or Michigan.

Vandy has been uneven, but they have done well. Some odd losses, but some great wins, too, and they played Kentucky tough. I think Vandy wins the first round and maybe two. They are MY TEAM. I think Kentucky might get upset towards the end.

From your lips to God’s ears! Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. ;)

S and I were just talking about the tourney yesterday. After losing 4 starters from last season, we were initially thinking we would be relaxed this year and be happy if Kansas makes the Sweet 16 and hopefully the Elite 8. Now that they’re ranked #3 and peaking at the right time, our expectations are building and we know we’re going to be in for a stressful run! Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!

Thanks, lderochi!

I hope i’m wrong, but I think the tournament this year will be mediocre. I believe that Kentucky, Syracuse, and North Carolina are a decent size step ahead of most teams, and that they’re just going to roll through the tournament. I do hope i’m wrong.

I think the expectation is that Kentucky will roll through the tournament, and I know I am always guilty of wanting to will a loss! I despise Calipari, but this group of NBA players (oops, I mean NCAA players) that Kentucky has seem to be pretty decent young men. No thugs like Cousins a few years ago. Anthony Davis is just unreal and deserves Player of the Year for sure. That said, I think a couple of teams are capable of beating them, especially if a couple of Kentucky guys get into foul troulbe (Davis is good at avoiding foul trouble).

I would actually love to see a Kentucky vs. Syracuse match up. I think both those teams would match up beautifully together. With Kentucky’s speed and great shooting ability and Syracuse’s size and shooting ability, i think would make for an amazing game, and i may be a little bias, but i would have my money on 'cuse.

Probably will not be a whole lot of west coast teams this year. I will be rooting for D1’s San Diego State Aztecs. My dog Henry won last year, so he is eagerly anticipating this year!!

Don’t get me wrong - I REALLY do know that March Madness is about basketball.

However, I am so (sadly) preoccupied with waiting to hear back from the colleges my son applied to, that I thought the title of the thread actually referred to the long wait in March for acceptances.

How pathetic is that?

Hahaha that’s not pathetic at all

How many people were a part of this last year?

I like March Madness. More because I like betting… although I’m getting more in to the actual basketball part of it. My sports organization always does a betting pool. I’m always the only female and always the only one under 30 (and one of the handful under 45). 4 years in a row and I’ve placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd each year. fingers crossed for this year!

Luckily, I’ve never felt forced to place my U late in the tournament. I would do it even if I wasn’t rooting for them ;). High hopes for them to make it far again this year!

UK alum who can still name the championship team from '78 including bench sitters. Drove to the airport to welcome them home. My heart still bleeds when they show the '92 Laettner shot (which they’ve been doing quite a bit as it’s the 20th anniversary). However, the Commodores have become my team over the last 10 years as a VU mom and it’s hard to love a UK team that turns over every year. So, so very sweet that the Commodores are SEC tournament champions!!! I hope this will put them in better shape bracket wise.

^ I don’t even get into pools, but I was really happy to see that VU victory over Kentucky. I hope someone knocks them out of the tournament early.

Well, if the conference tournaments are any indication of what might happen in the national tournament, I just might bow out of any pools. Geez!

I am so happy for Vanderbilt. I was loud and obnoxious at the Tavern right off Vandy campus where we went for brunch after church. D, in her clerical collar, was loud and obnoxious, too! GO DORES.

Hope someone can answer a “technical” question. Do we submit our brackets after the first four have played? (That is, submit our picks after we know whether Kentucky is playing Mississippi Valley State U. or Western Kentucky?) I’m assuming they’re due before the first games in the round of 64 (sometime Thursday). Help! If I were 17 I’d be tagging this post “URGENT!”
