Villanova was dominant against Kansas tonight. Michigan will have its hands full on Monday.
I’m back in first place in both my pools. I think Villanova wins. I wouldn’t have minded Loyola winning. I enjoyed their run.
I’m in good shape, too. Have Michigan & Villanova in the final. I will say, Villanova looked great tonight. More like a pro team than a college team at times. But I have faith in my Wolverines – Go Blue!
Thanks to Villanova beating Kansas, my kiddo just clinched our office pool (beating a bunch of number-crunching engineers)!
Go Blue! #HailToThe Victors.
But I’m sticking with my prediction from the beginning of the tournament. Nova wins. Too much talent and 3-point shooting.
And while Mississippi St. has an imposing and talented 6’7” player, GO IRISH!
Notre dame - wow stunning dramatic win
Irish!!! Awesome game…very happy for team…and more so for Muffet…she has been sooo close, sooo often…
I would have watched the game if I had known the former Milwaukee high school standout is on Notre Dame.
Well if Villanova holds on, I win my bracket. So yay for that.
I think we had about 20 students today in lecture out of the 180ish in the class. Most of the rest were already partying.
Me, too!
I was hoping for a neck and neck game.
Villanova’s just been playing on a whole 'nother level.
Nova beat #1 seed Kansas by 16 in the national semifinal. The championship game was fait accompli. =D>
2 national championships in 3 years but they’ll probably be ranked 10th th start next season because “ look at Duke’s recruiting class…”
Great shooting by Villanova.
That was painful…there is just no defense against those 3 pointers.
Yep. Nova can be slightly off as they were last night and still run away from a very good Michigan team.
When they are at their best, as they were during the Kansas game, nobody can come close.
A “way-too-early” poll puts Kansas at #1, Duke at #2, and Villanova at #3.
I am really disappointed that Duke has fully adopted the “one-and-done” approach to recruiting. If any college is in a position to truly recruit “student-athletes” that stick around for 4 years, develop into fine players, and actually graduate, it should be Duke.
In contrast, none of the Final Four teams this year were “one-and-done” teams. I think this makes for a much better basketball play, because it is team-focused and not pure talent focused. And while some of these kids will definitely make it into the NBA, equally important is that most of the kids will actually graduate, giving them a “Plan B” if going pro doesn’t work out.
Turn out that even with the Villanova win I finished 20 points out of first. So close! Iost it in the first round as the winner and I tied in every subsequent round. :((
My “Way Too Early” 2018-2019 rankings has Duke at #1. They have recruited the best freshman HS class in modern history.
Hopefully, some other college will win it next year, because I’ve never been a Duke fan in terms of basketball.
There is a defense, you run them off the 3-point line and make them put the ball on the floor and go to the basket, but Michigan didn’t have the necessary defensive quickness or prowess. And while Mike Krzyzewski realized his Duke team coudn’t play man-to-man and employed a zone D during the season, Coach Belein of Michigan should have had the same thought and employed a zone against Villanova to throw them off their game.
