March Madness

ldmom: No, I missed that altogether (not Terry’s 3 point shot at the end, but Roy’s “exasperation” and Michigan State’s “white flag” signal). I thought Ty Lawson did a great job, too.

Hmmm. USC throttles Texas. Good for the Pac-10, bad for SC getting even more full of themselves. Maybe Texas should have played Vince Young. Depending on which bracket I look at, I still have 5-6 of the Elite Eight in play.
There seem to have been fewer upsets than usual this year.

awwww…looks like my dh will not get his UNC-Texas game. :frowning: What in the world happened? I didn’t watch the game because I was outside gardening…but I wore my bright orange Crocs for good luck while putting in the petunias and coleus… and Texas still lost!!

Well, maybe if Texas A&M can get through Memphis and Ohio State and UNC can get through Georgetown, we may yet have a Tar Heel State/Lone Star State shootout. That’s a lot of ‘ifs’ though…lol!

“Mini, UCLA wins by defense.”

It’s hardly winning by defense when you can’t score against a team that is totally porous.

Yes, they did … YIPPEE! Three teams from Tennessee in the sweet 16!
GO VOLS!

Mini, UCLA missed some easy baskets but the UI defense was not porous.

Three teams in the Sweet Sixteen from the Pac-10. The only comparable conference is the $EC, which I hope falls flat on its face. And the vaunted ACC and Big Ten have been treated like characters in “Grand Theft Auto.”

1sokkermom

I said it in a different thread:

Virginia has the ability to steal defeat from the clutches of victory :(

^ Just one missed shot… ;)

Oh well, I get to buy lunch today at the office. I’m probably the first one out. I had Virginia winning it all. :)

1sokkermom

The pressure is off then…and you get to eat too! :)

PAC-10 tends to be underrated as a lot of games are featured late, when many of the sports scribes are crashing…

…if you can find them at all on FSN.

"Three teams in the Sweet Sixteen from the Pac-10.'

Oregon looked FANTASTIC; and USC was no slouch either (though I thought the Texas team was way overrated.)

DudeDad, yep, the Pac-10 being on FSN instead of ESPN contributes to major underexposure.

Did anyone else think Sunday was a bit of a yawn, if you don’t have a horse in the race?

I thought that of Saturday!

TheDad,
The Ducks are still in it. They are from Oregon, not North Carolina. ;)

That’s “the Ducks,” not “Duck.” Pronounced differently.

The Ducks are internet friendly…they have…wait for it…Webbed feet.

Let’s go Hoyas…

I hope to see Florida play Amherst for the REAL national championship. ;)

Was that a great choke by Tennessee or what? Up by 20 and they lose by 1.

Meanwhile, Southern Illinois came very close to knocking off Kansas.

And sympathies to TAMU. Their very good player is going to have nightmares about that missed layup.

I know :frowning:

Guess I’ll root for Memphis or ugh … Vandy.
