^
No it gave you median and asked which number would have to be added to make that the median.
Coincidentally, the number added and the median were the same.

I am reading you guys go back and forth and find much of it amusing.

I asked someone who took the test. For whatever it is worth, here is what he said:

The problem asked for which number, when added to the set, yielded a median value of 88. The median value is defined as the middle number in a set when the set is ordered in either ascending or descending order. The original 6 numbers were composed of 3 numbers less than 88 and 3 numbers greater than 88. Therefore, adding 88 to the set will make 88 the median. 88 is the answer.

I guess I stand corrected. Regardless, I put down 88.

Thanks for that groundbreaking research goosel.

wholly **** **** superfag and w/e Gambdafa*****…

and yes its 88, i think people tried to overanalyze everything because they thought it was too easy

Oh well I guess ill have to settle for a 2390 lol…

One wrong in math will prob be a 760-770

2370 probably ^^

i just went through the last few pages on the thread and read just about the stupidest argument ever involving random dyslexia and 93, rofl.

omg same lol

The answer was 88. No need for all this confusion.

cookiemonster explained it perfectly.

The way I see it, in order for 88 to be the median, it has to be ACTUALLY part of the set of numbers and since 88 wasn’t part of it, that was the missing number

I can’t believe you guys were debating one of the simplest problems on the test.

not necessarily

if there were an even number of numbers in the set and the 2 in the middle were 90 and 86, the median would be 88.

^But that case isn’t indicative of what was on the test… there were 7 numbers in the set, not 6.

Honestly, there are no words that can describe the…(insert insult here)… amount of people, that had trouble with one question. If you got it wrong, stop arguing that whatever answer you wrote, is right. Just move on.

I think we should end discussion about this question. The answer is 88. End of discussion.

that was a ridiculous amount of time wasted on an answer that doesn’t matter anymore, hope you all thought it was worth it lol

hello again peeps. sorry if I’m disrupting your wonderful discussion here, but have we compiled a complete answer key yet? :p

No new updates.
