<p>After 25 years of marriage. I really don’t know much about them so why am I surprised??</p>
<p>You know how women hate it when their husbands retire and just hang around the house all day getting underfoot…</p>
<p>I wonder if Arnold told her “I’ll be back…” ;)</p>
<p>Maria never wanted him to run for Governor of CA in the first place and she and the kids never lived in Sacramento, the state capitol. As a CA resident myself, I’m sure it was a stressful two terms for both of them to deal with the state’s problems. She probably stuck it out until the end of his second term in office was over before announcing the split. I guess “opposites attract” but maybe not always for life?</p>
<p>I thought it was very sad when she had to give up her network job because of his office. I’m surprised that the family has not been living together all these years. Maybe they waited until the kids were grown to separate officially? Aren’t their kids college-age or older?</p>

<p>Maybe it’s a lot like the Gores…(except for the masseuse part). He wants to spend his time traveling around the globe promoting green energy (or whatever) and she wants to veg out at home and spend time with the kids/grandkids…</p>
<p>As the saying goes, Maria said “I married you for better for worse but not for lunch.”</p>
<p>Too bad really…I liked her better than him though!</p>
<p>As I recall, the boy is the youngest of the Schwarzenegger children. One daughter is a freshman at USC I believe.</p>
<p>Maria has always struck me as having the constitution of her grandmother Rose (Lord knows she seems to be the spitting image of Rose at times). Like Rose, my guess is that Ms. Shiver-Schwarzenegger doesn’t care to put up with nonsense, but unlike Rose, Maria seemed to be much more intimate with her own children. That, I’m sure she got from mother Eunice. In any event, I am praying that husband and wife find the answers they are looking for.</p>
<p>The only other news yesterday that took me by as much surprise was that Marie Osmond had re-married her first husband.</p>
<p>So perhaps, Arnold, “will be back.”</p>

<p>Oh! It’s Maria and Arnold. I heard the morning news tease “celebrity couple separates after 25 years” then I had to turn off the radio before finding out who. </p>
<p>That’s too bad. They looked pretty stable/functional/happy. The end of a marriage is always sad. </p>

<p>They announced they are separating and no word of divorce at this time. </p>

<p>I lost what little respect I had for the Governator when he pardoned his buddy’s kid right before leaving office. The murder was a couple hundred yards from my daughter’s dorm room in San Diego.</p>
<p>I doubt this murder at San Diego State and the governor’s sleazy favor for the son of the former state legislator got national news. But it was a very sordid end to a failed political career.</p>
<p>Hopefullly, she’ll kick his sleezy butt out the back door and change the locks!</p>

<p>That is shocking. I think he cheated on her and that’s why they split. I always thought her second H was a total bum.</p>
<p>Maria and Arnold were married same day, same town as my best friend. The paparazzi was chasing our pre-wedding limo with bride and bridesmaids . It was amusing at the time. My friend sort of looked like Maria ( same 80’s hair ) which is probably why were were being chased…that and only two Catholic churches in town…
