<p>Arnold and Maria have kept their finances separate and both had lots of money before their marriage. Much easier to hide stuff from an unsuspecting spouse.</p>
<p>Im guessing several people knew or suspected but if she (mistress) is saying the child is her husbands and the husband thinks the child is his … short of a DNA test or her and Arnold giving confirmation, the story remains gossip and speculation.</p>
<p>Im waiting for the other shoe to drop . there is more to this story. Why didn’t AS continue to pay the child support and deny the relationship? What has changed??</p>
<p>CNN did a show today on political folks who got in hot water because of certain sexual escapades they were involved in. Guess who they left out. None other than their own Elliot Spitzer. Now that’s funny.</p>
<p>If we can include mayors in this mix, one can’t forget Kwame Kilpatrick. His text message scandal ranks up there with the best of them.</p>
<p>Not sure how David Paterson was forgotten here…except for the fact that he was a pretty forgetable guy.</p>
<p>I heard from a friend today that when he told her about this, she asked him to move out of the house and he said, “no,” which is why she is living in some hotel or other.</p>
<p>Now, I’d say that takes a particular kind of arrogance. Stunning.</p>
<p>About the money…It was reported today that Arnold is worth about $300 million and Maria is worth about $100 million. I would think that it would be pretty easy to hide child support.</p>

<p>I either read or saw a video clip online earlier tonight that he didn’t just voluntarily decide one day to tell Maria of this affair and that he fathered the child. Rather, it said he was forced to tell her as things were coming out about it (leaks of some sort) and so he had to reveal it to her. This may have been back in Jan. when he left office. Also, the staff worker (other woman) “retired” at that time after working for the family for 20 years.</p>
<p>I wonder if the child in question has some definitive Schwarzeneggar physical trait (gap between front teeth maybe?) that became more pronounced as he got older. Or maybe Arnold just wanted to fess up, but wanted to wait until after he left the Governor’s office.</p>
<p>For whatever reason, he felt the need to tell his wife in January-ish.</p>

<p>I certainly hope Maria didn’t know about this love child all along. That would make her a liar when she defending during his campaigning. If that’s the case, I have no pity for her.</p>
<p>I don’t know why I think this, but I don’t think Kennedys lie. (Well, there was Teddy and Chapaquidick . . . ) But generally speaking, I think they are out there, flaws and all, for all to see. I think they are genuine people who are very successful without the need to lie about reality.</p>
<p>I also don’t think she knew. I caught a few minutes of the Gayle King show on XM yesterday. She was in Chicago filming the star studded tribute to Oprah and she said that Maria was going to be at the show and that Gayle and Oprah were reeling over the news. She seemed very surprised with the news.</p>

<p>Does not seem so, otherwise her violent reaction would make no sense. That is probably what has her so disappointed and upset.</p>
<p>This would make a great novel, wouldn’t it? I’d like to read it from the cheating husband’s POV because, for the life of me, I can’t imagine what that feels like - lying about something that important, to your wife and children and constituents, for 10 YEARS. Would he have the decency to be ashamed? How do you get through Christmas and graduations and family trips and public appearances? What must his relationship with his out-of-wedlock son be like - what about that child’s Christmases and family trips? How does the child feel when he realizes that his father didn’t acknowledge him publicly as a son for 10 years?</p>
<p>I wouldn’t like to read this as an autobiography or one of the soon-to-be numerous magazine articles because I’m not interested in what a guy like Arnold would say about it. But, as with John Edwards, I wonder what’s going on upstairs. It’s pretty obvious what’s going on downstairs.</p>
<p>Didn’t Diana Ross have a child with Barry Gordy but pretended it was her husband’s at the time? Although EVERYONE new Diana and Barry were an item and the child looked like Barry …. so when they finally came clean, it was no big deal.</p>

<p>At the time you posted this, Arnold had already confirmed, and Maria had already officially responded to his confirmation.</p>
<p>When I heard it was a long time employee of their “household,” I had this horrible image of Maria hosting a baby shower for her, enthusiastic and clueless.</p>

<p>Clark Gable & Loretta Young, Loretta went away and came back with a baby she said she adopted! The baby daughter had Clark’s ears so Loretta was always putting a hat on her, but everyone knew. The daughter wrote a book in her adult years.</p>
