Mary Matalin

Has anyone seen Mary Matalin lately? I haven’t seen her in a whole but saw her on tv tonight and wonder if something was wrong. Anyone know

She and he husband, James Carville, just wrote a book, Love & War, which is why you probably saw her on TV (you probably know this). She’ll be on the TV circuit for a while now.

Yeah, I saw that but she didnt look well.

She’s had a lot of plastic surgery over the years.

They were on GMA this morning and were also featured on CBS Sunday Morning this past weekend. This morning she said that before entering politics, she had been a cosmetologist and was constantly fooling with her hair. She mentioned she had been cutting on it this morning prior to her appearance. I thought it wasn’t her best move as it looked a little on the wild side. Other than that, I loved seeing Mary & James being interviewed by George Stephanopolous. I like them all and it was a fun interview. Maybe just a bad day for her fitting in all the different appearances. I thought James looked very gaunt in the CBS piece last Sunday and she looked much better in that one.

Oh zooser, sorry. That totally went over my head. :o Now I see what you were asking.

I like them too. Enjoyed the piece on CBS Sunday Morning and agree that James Carville looked gaunt. I saw them today on TV and my main thought was what’s up with her hair, not really anything about thinking she didn’t look well.

James Carville is super-thin. Has been for years. Haven’t seen her in several years.

I looked a bit on line. She has a weird way of talking where her mouth doesn’t move enough. And she kept forgetting to look at the camera and then would sort of locate it and look wild eyed. (I have a friend who recently ran for office who said remembering to look at the camera instead of the interviewer was almost impossible for her to get used to.) I think she’s probably just had too much Botox, but I don’t know. Carville had a much better affect, even if he’s thin.

It could be Botox or plastic surgery. Gaunt is a good word, though. She looked thin to the point of brittle. I hope it is a choice and not some type of illness.

She’s on Morning Joe right now. Her hair is a hot mess. James’s doesn’t look any different than he always has, IMO. She has definitely been getting into the botox - NTTAWWT .

She’s always had that “mouth doesn’t move” while talking problem. She’s been teased most of her life about it. It’s not from botox.

James Carville always looks gaunt.

They’re a great couple. I hope they’re in good health.

^ her whole face doesn’t move now.

I’ve seen her 2 or 3 times over the past week. I’m not a plastic surgeon, and don’t play one on TV, but my diagnosis is too much botox. My guess is she had a tune-up in anticipation of the book tour. She looks like a zombie.

I saw her on Morning Joe today, and I agree that she looked awful. Her hair was horrible, she had way too much makeup on, and her face looked really strange. I hope it’s just plastic surgery or botox, and not illness. James Carville looked like his normal self, to me.

Agreed. But that’s been happening to her for a while. I started noticing it a few years ago. She always had an unusually tense speaking style and this morning bad hair, too much make-up, and other cosmetic enhancements, well, politely…crashed.

I always thought she had Locust Valley Lockjaw, but to me yesterday she looked emaciated and like she was wearing a wig. My immediate thought was cancer, but apparently not. Glad to hear it.

I saw her on the CBS Sunday segment and didn’t really notice anything disturbing about her. Her hair definitely was shorter than I’ve seen it previously. I think they’re a very interesting couple and loved seeing their beautiful home in New Orleans. Lucky students who get Prof. Carville at Tulane.

^^^

Agree that their New Orleans house is gorgeous!

James Carville was on WNYC’s Leonard Lopate show today without Mary Matalin. Reference was made to her being “under the weather.” I think he may have said she was recovering from minor surgery, but I’m not sure; his words were a bit garbled.
