Master List of Merit Awards

jlauer…when we visited USC in summer 2004, we were told that students who received scholarships higher than a certain amount (I thought they said $1000) were also offered in state tuition if they were OOS students.

I got a Dean’s Scholarship to USC - quarter tuition ($8000/yr).

Just FYI…the USC I was referring to was University of South Carolina. I should have noted that.

jlauer

When we visited U So Carolina, we were told that last year the cutoff for “some merit money” had been around 1250. They were quick to point out that it changes every year and they wouldn’t know where this year would be until they got all applications in. They told us that there were various tiers that started at $500 and I thought they said that you had to get to the $2000 level to get the in-state rate as well as the $$ but I could be wrong. It’s funny because we all remember a different number. D thought is was $500, EAmom thought she remembered hearing $1000. I looked for my notes to try to verify this but couldn’t find them.

When we visited Clemson they never gave a number for tuition remission nor did they offer any hints at where cutoffs had been in the past.

i got an early letter from grinnell and recieved 8000/year! pretty excited botu tht!

My D got an early letter from Grinnell today with a generous merit aid package of $60k over four years. While we don’t have the details yet, I presume this is $15k per year . . .

I received $11,000 from an Achievement Award from the University of Redlands (which officially only goes up to $10,000) as well as $2500 from a Presidential Scholarship with a total of $13,500 per year ($54K total).

Andi,

I am so, so happy for you! This is wonderful news. I am assuming from the name that this ties in with your son’s musical talents. All the best to you when it comes time to decide between these great choices!

Cami215

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

So happy for Andison and his Mommy!!! WOW WOW WOW WOW!! Can you pick’em or WHAT??? Talk about turning things around. You so have to have a thread after all decisions are made telling the story from beginning to end. Sounds like a new college book…hmmmmmm

Not only will it help others on the board but for those not in the know about CC, you REALLY could write a book.

So very happy for you both,
Kat

Andi:
That’s great news! Congratulations to you, Andison and the entire AndiClan.
