Master List of Merit Awards

Our son had been told earlier he had money from U Rochester. Today, we received a letter that slightly increased that amount. Son was granted a Rush Rhees scholarship of $12,000 a year. He is also in the running for a Renaissance Scholarship and went up to interview this weekend, but that is a long shot. He got a closer look at the campus and had a lot of fun talking with the other kids.

D got three different scholarships from RPI today, total amount 20,400…per year

congrats to all!!! Happy Days…

Cami -

Congrats on your sons Rush Rhees! Good to see that Roch raised it from $10,000 per year, as it wasn’t keeping pace with cost of attendance.

Happy Days indeed!

Cami -
Congratulations to you and your son on Rush Rhees! Is that in addition to the first scholarship - or instead of?
I’d love to hear his thoughts on his campus visit.

Yes, Cami. Please post us a report!! Congrats.

Like many other anonymous parents I am a lurker on CC but had such an unexpected and pleasant surprise today that I had to post. The mail brought a nice fat envelope from the University of Miami. D opened it and was pleased to be accepted, we chatted a little and a few minutes later I looked at the packet and pulled out a certificate which granted her a Bowman Foster Ashe 3/4 tuition worth 22K per year. I guess this means we’re visiting Miami in April.

Congrats to your child! Sounds like a nice merit award! Have fun in Miami!

Congrats to Virginiamom’s D!!! Woohoo!

VirginiaMom - Welcome … and congratulations!!! :)

Congratulations to all the recent award recipients. This is quite an accomplished group of kids. Keep up the good work.

VirginiaMom-Welcome and Congrats! My S is a freshman at UMiami and just loves it there. If you have any questions, visit over on the UMiami board.

Virginiamom…congrats, my D got a nice scholarship from Miami as well, we will be visiting on admitted students day which is April 2nd.

S accepted to Gonzaga today with a 40k trustees scholarship. Yay!!!

Wow! Great job!

DD received a CONGRATULATIONS envelope yesterday. She was awarded Meyerhoff Scholar Award from UMBC - full ride. Finally saw a smile on her face as she awaits the mail every day waiting to hear from schools!

Woohoo hsmom! Congrats to your D!

hsmom: Is the Meyerhoff still considered a minority achievement merit scholarship program at UMBC, or have they widened the pool of acceptees? It is a great program, originally designed for minorities.

collegialmom: The Meyerhoff Scholarship is open to all students now regardless of race or ethnicity. The applicant must be planning to major in the sciences, engineering, comp sci, or mathematics and continuing onto graduate school. http://www.umbc.edu/meyerhoff</a> . When DD went to the scholarship selection weekend for finalists a couple of weeks ago the audience was very diverse - both in terms of gender and racial makeup. :-)

DrDrewsMom - Congratulations on the scholarship to Gonzaga!
