Masters in international trade or creative marketing

Hiya,

I got my BA in economics from U of T back in 2013 and worked as a reporter for half a year and in marketing/advertising for a year. I recently resigned from my marketing/advertising position because it’s a small company with no room for growth. I was thinking of signing up for a graduate program to make it easier to look for work, and I’ve narrowed it down to two choices, either international trade or creative marketing. I really like topics in international relations, especially with Asia since I’ve worked as a translator for government officials before. I’m also skilled in arts and liked designing advertisements so creative marketing is another option. I was wondering if anyone have any suggestions on good graduate programs in these two areas? I’m interested in both Canadian programs (preferably Toronto) and ones in the US. My undergraduate grades were ok, not tops, but my last two years were significantly better than the first two years (like double GPA).
I attended the Masters 1-on-1 event back in September 2014 and really liked the creative marketing program from this university in London England but wasn’t able to find any domestic ones. The Queen’s Masters in International Business program was also something I was looking at, but I wanted something that has more to do with trade/policy than business admin.

Thanks for any suggestions.

More degrees doesn’t always make it easier to find jobs. You can find yourself overqualified for a lot of jobs.

My first thought would be the Munk School at U of T. They have several M.A. programs in global policy with an Asian focus. This would also be a good time to try to break into the larger U.S. economy by getting a masters from a top U.S. school. Frequently people with a degree from Harvard etc will find it easier to get a job in Toronto than someone with an equivalent degree from U of T.
