Did you ED anywhere ? Does WUSTL show full ride on the NPC? Run the NPCs for Vandy, Cornell, Lehigh, Case Western, Rochester, Lafayette, Miami, UVA. All meet need but some are need aware - meaning how much you need mattters…they can say no.
Why S&T but no other public like Mizzou, UMKC.
Full ride is very difficult I don’t see Access Missouri providing you enough aid is there a local community college near home just in case ?
I shouldve put it there but I applied to Mizzou and got around 23k/yr from them. I didnt apply to all the of the UM publics to save some money on score sending. Also, I think I qualify for a full ride at WUSTL checking the NPC and pledge. I was thinking about Vanderbilt but I don’t think I have much of a shot there.
Most schools let you self report. The Missouri publics with accredited EE are Mizzou, S&T, St Louis and KC.
Mizzou at $23k still leaves you a nice $20k hole or so. You can borrow $5500 and get a part time job. Live off campus year 2 and save a little. I don’t love loans but.
Don’t worry about shots. You are a long shot at WUSTL. But you need to run NPCs and see who comes through. Add BU, Tufts and Rice to the list I gave you above.
You could be without a home if you can’t afford Mizzou. You need to expand your list. All can show you how to get an app waiver and most, if not all, will let you self report your score.
But there’s little difference in odds at Vandy to WUSTL. Some will get into one, but not the other. Both ways.
Okay. Another issue I have is that my parents do not want me leaving Missouri, I am applying to CWRU in “secrecy” I guess. I think it may best to go to community college and get a 4.0 GPA and transfer if WUSTL or the UM publics don’t work out.
You’ll still have full need. Many schools limit transfers on aid. Yes, your parents limiting you is a challenge but if they’ll let you go in state, with loans and a part time job, it can work. Or CC. Good luck.
PS - CWRU is need aware. I’d likely apply to Rice, Vandy, Cornell etc over it. Need aware means your necessary cost to them in aid is reason for them to reject you should they choose. But throw in UVA- the one public with engineering that meets need for all.
In the end, your dad win if you need to be close! You have a tough situation and it likely doesn’t end great but you are limiting possibilities.
I don’t think this will be possible if you are applying for need based financial aid. Your parents will have to provide all of the financials to submit to CWRU…the secret will be over.
