A 4.0 unweighted GPA is indeed a good place to be! Keep it up! I’m not sure if you need AP Calculus or AP Physics. You may want to take AP Statistics instead. Do take physics even if honors. If you are able to take both calculus and statistics, even better. Do you have any AP scores that you can share?
As a rising sophomore it’s much much too early to try to match you anywhere. You only have one year of GPA and courses under your belt.
For now, focus on doing your best to get good grades, take 4 years of all core subjects (math, science (with one year of bio, chem, physics and then one of those AP), English, history, and foreign language).
Get involved in activities at school and your community and do what you enjoy!

ETA…you wrote this: Distant cousin can write letter of rec for UMiami I would suggest that you have your references be from teachers who have had you in classes…probably a couple of your grade 11 teachers. The distant cousin recommendation doesn’t sound like a good idea to me.
This student has only finished their freshman year of high school. In my opinion, they have lots of time to decide some of their future courses. And as a student just completing freshman year, if they don’t have any AP test scores, that’s fine.
Way too early for this and you’ve not shared what you’re looking for in a school. There are literally thousands of schools that would work for poli Sci. Keep up the good work and come back in year or two.
I somewhat agree. Top academic students tend to plan early & will construct a four-year HS class plan, subject to revision 100+ times as they progress through high school. Some high schools will even provide a flowchart or grid as a guide in the yearly curriculum guide, like for students on a college preparatory track, with subject recommendations (like this is what the guidance department is recommending that most students on this track take & when). pandalover55 is unsure which type of physics subject to take in 12th grade and could be planning to take AP Statistics before AP Calculus (whatever “All up to AP Calc AB” means).
I agree it is premature to chance a rising sophomore, but I think sophomores can spend some time exploring options. Like, what is appealing about Georgetown? What other colleges does that point toward? Are there things about Georgetown that could be better? What colleges does that point toward?
I note between the time they first start looking at colleges and when they are finally accepting an offer, many kids evolve a lot in terms of what they are really looking for. So this is in part a process of discovery, including self discovery, and that can actually be very fulfilling.
