Math for March SAT 2009

^ 160 is the answer
the question asked for when tank B would have 100 ga more than tank A; you found the answer for when tank A has 100 ga more than tank B

Ugh that really ****es me off. Can anyone explain the math science question? I must have read the question wrong because I put 104…

Was the answer 90?

Yes it was 90. If you just add the numbers, you are counting the group that took both twice, because they are included under both categories

yes the answer was 90. u just subtract 14 from both and add the two remaining + 14 = 90.

so was that median temperature one w/ the graph 88 degrees?

can someone explain what the 4root 2 problem was?
and how to do the p% and x% question?

Hmmm, I don’t remember a temperature question - experimental?

yeah. it’s 90.

what about the one with calls?
it asked what percent received less than 2 calls.
do you think no (0) calls would count?
or would it be adding the numbers of 2 calls and 1 call?

What was the answer to the question where a certain expression had to be between two numbers?

Nope, I don’t remember a temp question either.
I barely had time to finish. I was literally pulling my hair out.

for the temp one, it gave a line graph of a city or something and prob 10 pts on it with degrees. it asked for the median, which i thought was 88.

maybe it was experimental…i did have 4 math sect

112358, are u refering to the a-x-5 thing?

Every time that the proctor said “5 minutes” I had small panic attacks. lol

No… it was like 2x-5 had to be between two numbers.

I think my answer was 89?

bout the p & x circle question
i found calculated it so it was any were between 40 and 50
so if ur any where there, ur safe

The p&x question was confusing; it asked for the %, if I’m not mistaken. I made the mistake of finding the degrees.

The polygon one? If so, the answer was 65.

can someone please make a list of all the answers?

No 2x-5 isn’t the polygon one… I don’t no which one that was 112358 (maybe experimental). I doubt it though b/c i had math experimental as well, I would have remember if that was there. Do you remember more of the question.

No, not the polygon one… maybe it was experimental :p

I think there are multiple experimental sections for each section type, so we could’ve had two different math experimentals.

If I posted more, I’d basically have to give away the entire question…

Wait, so is the one with the math and science students officially 90?

I put 104, I don’t see why it would be 90. If you were to make it 90, you would be discounting all students who took both classes.
