Math in ASTR 1210

So, I got into ASTR 1210 with Murphy during my orientation, which I’m super excited about. But… my math abilities are kind of shaky. Does anyone have an idea of how much math is involved in the course? I’m basically just wondering if I can do well and enjoy it all without stressing out too much about the math side. I can self-teach pretty easily if need be, but I’d rather not. Advice is appreciated. (And oh, I won’t really have internet access from this Thursday to the next one, so sorry in advance if I don’t see a response til a week or two from now.)

It’s basic calculator math. f=ma. Maybe some ellipses…

Great, thanks. Guess I shouldn’t have any issues then.

I had two roommates take it, one was a Music major and the other was BA-psych and both hated math but did just fine. I think as hard as it got was Algebra/trig, but not Calc level

Awesome, that’s really reassuring! I’m alright with stuff below calc so this should work out well.

My son took that class last year and really enjoyed it. (and he doesn’t like math AT ALL).
